How quickly do you go through headsets?

I've had a rather low-quality Logitech headset, then a Creative one, and now I have Sennheiser HD558. None of them have truly broken on me without having been damaged in some way, so I don't really think I had to upgrade, strictly speaking. It's important to me to have high quality for something...

What do you use for web development?

Web development has gotten more automated lately, with automated building tools and a quite complex system of processing raw files into HTML and CSS. For luddites who might have been content with Notepad editing, this is a huge divergence from that. I've used Grunt/Gulp and the like before but...

    Java or Java Script?

The title seemed to conflate Java and JavaScript, which have two fairly different functions. Java is like C and C++ and is of course "write once, run everywhere," which may be beneficial. With the rise of node.js, though, JavaScript is gaining more use in backends, instead of being restricted...

    C# or Python for Games?

C# is probably the more effective language to code a game in. Python, by being a scripting language, is going to be slower and more difficult to optimize. C#, while more low-level, will run faster because it is a compiled language. Even though there might be resources to code a game with Python...

    Does Anyone Still Play Runescape?

I tried playing Runescape a few times, but never was able to get into it. The game is still alive, of course, but there's probably some rose-colored glasses that cause people who played it as children to continue. I do still think the game has its merits though and is a high-quality game.

    Time of day?

I play games whenever I have time, really, but somewhat more tending towards the afternoon or evening. I have fewer obligations at that time so I can enjoy myself while playing. I would prefer to have more free time, but I think that's a common desire of everyone these days...

The best games deals that have been found.

The Steam sales have always been my primary source of games for cheap, since they offer quality games at (ridiculously) low prices. The Humble Bundles are also good to look out for, with the added advantage of benefiting charity as well. Without these I probably wouldn't have amassed such a...

    Gaming addiction

Addiction would mean that one cannot physically separate from playing a game. I think if you spend all of your free time playing a game, it probably wouldn't be considered addiction yet, but if you forwent other essential things, it would be considered addiction. Of course the other side of...

RAGE or RAGE QUIT: Have you done this?

I really only ragequit in singleplayer games when I get close to completing a level but don't. It's a bit annoying when that happens, and in some cases I can't bring myself to try again. No actual rage occurs... I prefer to think of myself as level-headed, most of the time.

    Terraria vs Minecraft!

Terraria differs a fair bit from Minecraft, I think, since Terraria has deeper lore but somewhat less opportunity to play the game without an end objective. Both games have their merits, as far as I can tell. Personally I haven't played Terraria but have watched Let's Plays of it, so I'm a bit...

    Roms played through mobile?

I think emulators are really good because smartphones nowadays have sufficient processing power to run a lot of handheld consoles. Sure, some authenticity is lost, but it's definitely more convenient since physical hardware isn't as much needed. It's also hard to retain legality with all of the...

    Developing Your Own App?

I don't think that it'd be particularly hard with a background in programming, which I have. To be honest, the app market might be oversaturated by this point, so the hard part is coming up with something novel that can gain a large playerbase. In my opinion, some of the best games can be...

Do you consider mobile games to be "gaming?"

I don't see why not, a game is a game no matter what platform it's on. In-app purchases are totally valid things, and are a (frighteningly, I should add) effective avenue to monetize an otherwise free game. A smartphone is practically a computer anyway these days, with processing power...

When did you last upgrade your PC hardware?

(Well, this applies primarily to only people who self-built their PCs...) I last upgraded my computer a few years ago, with a i3-4160 and a GTX 750 Ti since my needs aren't too demanding. Ever since, I haven't found a compelling reason to upgrade, especially with finances. I realize that games...

    What languages do you know?

I know Python/Perl and some JavaScript. Lately I haven't been putting nearly as much effort into development as I did before, so I haven't made much progress. Really, I think I should be learning something like C++ or Java, which seem high in demand these days, or maybe Rust or something more...
