Gambling is a very dangerous addiction, but unfortunately it is still considered as something "dangerous" by many people. :triumph:
there is lot of people who lost everything because of gambling, there houses, family... i don't know what is inside their minds to make them take that risk.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you... It's very sad to see people losing so many things because of something so stupid. :sleepy: But it is an addiction and addictions are always complicated to be overcome. :worried:

I do sometimes make a bet with my friends, but not with strangers. Like whoever loses will pay for dinner later or clean the dishes. No big bets that might cause us problems.

I had that habit of betting on games. And then losing some of the money, I learned that it's not much worth money. You can see that you can bet as much as you like. But it all comes down to how you're realistically putting the output. So on that point that it'd be fair to say that betting is not worth that there.

I once bet some money in a poker game with friends in real life, and even then I was skeptical about the possibility of winning the game, and that money being a complete waste. At least we all had a good time faking to be pro players. Anyways, betting is a very risky business that I'm not intending to do ever online.

Maybe it's more than an addictiond, I think they will take that risk they will get a good result or win the prize. But they don't know that the way gambling work is just to make them dreaming to win.

There are some scientific studies that compare this addiction to something much more complicated, such as a behavioral deviation for example. It's best to stay away from this betting world.

If the focus of the bet is this, I think it's cool and funny. The problem begins when the focus of the bet is related to the financial aspect. :triumph:

Didn't even think people bet on video games, to be honest. I mean I knew that people paid for chances at winning skins on games like Counter Strike but I never considered that people would bet against other players on how well they would do in the actual game. I would never do it to be honest because no matter how good you are at the game, you can never rely on the game going exactly as you want it to. Something could happen, even a glitch which could end up losing you a lot of money. I'm not much of a betting person either but if I do bet then it only be on real life sports games.

That's right, to stay away if the best option, because if you try one time then it will take you to another time to the third time... It's like cigarets or drugs, you know that it's good for you but you can't stay away from it.

The only betting I've ever done in a game was on Super Smash Bros., and even then I grew tired of it. I prefer playing.
In general, though, I hate gambling, even moreso when real money is involved. It's a terrible habit to get into and it can degenerate faster than you can realize it, it takes nothing to start rolling down. Plus, every time betting is involved you'll be guaranteed to find a shady scheme behind it, which should further discourage the thought (it ever crossed your mind in the first place).

Sincerely speaking I can't imagine myself betting on a game. Aside skills and good play, it takes a bit of luck to win a game. I've seen cases in games whereby the best players don't end up winning, so why should I risk my hard earn cash for something dicey. All the same I play games for the fun of it and not for the reward (betting). Games should be played in a relaxed atmosphere and not in a nervous or tensed one. Grab your console and enjoy your game with ease, no better feeling than this. It rocks!!!

I agree with you. It's just the first attempt for you to get on a path probably without a return. :sleepy:

I think this is precisely the function of games: entertain players for the simple pleasure of playing them and not having to involve betting.

You mean Gambling, i don't like it honestly. It's something like drugs or worse. There is many people who find that funny, but if the meaning of the game is just enjoying, then why to take that risk to loose everything?

I struggled with a gambling vice in my life. I have other addictions as well but this was the most destructive one. Because I could drink a few beer and be cool with it. I can smoke a cigarette a day and be done with it. But with gambling, i always want more. If I win I want to win more. If I lose I want to win my money back. It is indeed a dangerous habit.

There is something about gambling that scares me and that's the spirit behind it. I once had a chat with a friend of mine that is actively involved in gambling and he was like "brother I've lost quite a huge sum of cash via gambling but I find it difficult to quit". It was a scary comment I least expected from him but then i just told myself gambling won't be an option for me no matter what.

Yes, if you try it the first time then you will try another time and it's so difficult to quite even you lost your money but you keep telling yourself that manybe the next time you will win. Even you heard that there is some people win but i think it's not true.

That's the way gambling work, to keep you trying no matter if you win or you lose. And the worst thing is if you have a family, wife and kids just imagine the way you will live in that situation. There is a place in USA ( i forgot the name ) where homeless people live, they lost everything just because of gambling, now they blame themselves and they wish if they never tried that gambling ever.

You can returm but maybe after loosing everything, the majority of people take it easy in the begining but it's not like what we see in movies right, this is real and it cause only problems.

In my earlier days I bet on Dota 2, but only with in-game items and sets. I never payed real money to bet. Items and sets that I bet were all gained from playing the game, and as gifts, because I usually don't spend money on buying items. My opinion is, its not a good thing to spend money on, but on the other side, its same as betting on any other sport or going to a casino. Its just a matter of opinion.
