There are a lot of free games on Internet, which range from simple Flash games to huge video game remakes. Let's hear about what you've found!

To start off, if you haven't heard of Black Mesa, you have probably been living under a rock for the past eight years. Black Mesa is a full conversion mod of Half-Life, one of the best first-person shooters ever made, updated to modern age by a team of very dedicated fans. The game is free to play, and despite the fact it is a mod, you don't need to purchase a game to play it! Just download Source SDK Base 2007 using Steam and then install the mod.

Black Mesa is no longer free, as of this post it is $19.99 on Steam. My favorite free games to play are TERA, which is an mmo; WAKFU, which is a turned based mmo; and Warframe, which is a mission based, mmo, co-op, hi-tech ninja game.

Bejewled. Available on pretty much any flash game website that you may have frequented in the early 2000's.
There's a Bloons 5 now.

You're so not getting any work done after playing these.

You know that's right. :tongueclosed:

There are tons of free games these days. Well they are "free to play" but some might actually be pay to win. It really depends on the type of games you're looking for. Whatever that may be, you can find some free games for most any genre these days, from puzzle games to MMORPGs. There are entire sites filled with free games, like casino sites, MSN zone games, and sites like Pogo.

There are even some where you can earn money, although I've heard they aren't that great, and they are usually a slogfest.

I've been playing Paladins lately here and there. It's pretty fun and as an Overwatch player it does the game immense justice. It's like OW but with more customization options. Definitely worth putting in your arsenal.

I am currently playing Shadowverse on steam. The Shadowverse is a CCG, similar to Hearthstone, with eastern/anime art and some mechanics unique only to the game. This game could definitely compete with hearthstone and definitely worth a try from any CCG fans.

You want free games that actually has content? You should get a Steam account and subscribe to forums that update you if Steam has a sale or promo. I got multiple free games that way, like last week when Payday 2 was COMPLETELY FREE for 2 days for a promo in Steam. It was probably a ploy for newer players to buy their assortment of DLCs, but the base game was free for a brief period of time. You can also browse their Free-to-Play games, but take note that most of these types of games still require money for in-game transactions.

I've played Sherwood Dungeon for quite some time as a kid. It's a free-to-play browser-based MMORPG. It's actually not that good looking back at it now, but at the time I loved it a lot because it was in first person 3D and I didn't even have to download it. The game hasn't had much improvement over the years, but I believe that it could've had potential.

I don't play many free to play games, but the one I mainly play is Warframe on Steam. When I first gave it a shot I was pretty impressed with the quality of gameplay and graphics for a free to play game. The sci-fi theme is really cool, and I like how quick and intense the gameplay can be. What kept me hooked for a while was the RPG-like customization and leveling system. You always had an incentive to play more so you could unlock that one part you need, or level up that weapon you love. The co-op and online element is great too.

Black MESA seems to be a good upgrade to the Half Life engine. I mean that experience and more improvements. I guess you can call it the next Half Life mod in that case. You'd understand that some of the time free games like these are what makes things lot easier. I would definitely try it and may even stream it on twitch.

I like flash games because you can stop the game anytime without having any remorse of the time spent.

Really? I think you're wasting time on those since you don't get any progress. They're literal time wasters because a game lasts 10 minutes or so. There should always be a purpose when playing, otherwise I think you just spent an afternoon playing text twist and there's really nothing gained in your time.

I have been playing many free games on Miniclip in the past. I don't really find flash games to be exciting anymore. I like challenging games. Nowadays we can also play games for free on Facebook.

I really enjoy Fallout Shelter, which is available for free on Steam. It takes place in the Fallout world, and you design and build your own vault from the ground up. You can specialize your dwellers to do different tasks, and send them on quests and exploration missions in the wasteland to find additional loot to help improve your vault. It's a great time killer, and it's something doesn't take a lot of time to play. I like that I can just log on once a day, collect my resources and complete some quests and be done until the next day.

Aside from all the giveaways, I'd say that AM2R (Another Metroid 2 Remake) and Ib were both really good games. AM2R is straight up amazing, its quality is stunning for a fan-made project; Ib is a sort of horror/adventure game, somewhat similar to Yume Nikki, but with a nice plot, enjoyable characters and a pretty creepy atmosphere. A good pick in the huge batch of half-finished RPG Maker games out here.
I'm pretty sure some of those short story-centered games on Steam have good enough ratings to be worth a try, but I've never played them.

One free game I used to love to play was warframe. It's free on steam and also the PS4 store and it's a very fun game to play. It's pretty much just like Destiny but it has it's own little twist to the game which I thought was pretty cool!

If Facebook Games count, I've spent a lot of time playing Tetris Battle. I was just addicted to the game. Also Cafe World, Candy Crush and 8-Ball Pool. Now, I don't see myself enjoying those games anymore. But I'm always a free to play kind of guy and lots free games still entertain me.
