Do you own a knife skin?

Knife skins are really expensive in CS:GO, they are a symbol of vanity and can cost anywhere from a hundred to several thousand, depending on their design and wear. While I do own a few cheap weapon skins I could never bring myself to buy a knife skin, it's simply way too expensive to justify for me.

Do you own a knife skin, and if so, what kind of knife is it?

I don't have one, and I don't want to buy one for money, either. If one dropped for me I would sell it instantly.

I don't have a knife skin but I want to have it. Since Knife skins are really expensive, I've been playing it all day just to have a drop of case or skin. If I ever got one, I'll of course sell it but after I spend it some time or if the price rise on the market.

Once I manage to get the game my main goal will be to get a knife skin, just to sell and get steam money for more games. It's crazy how much they sell for, why?

It's just a status thing... I mean, why is Loui Vitton so expensive, right?

To get to answering the question; I have opened ALOT of cases. I never really got jack shit. HOWEVER.

I think it's about 2 days ago, I played a competative game with a friend (we won. yay.) and a summer case dropped. I said "Hey, let's open the bitch" and proceeded to buy the key for 2 euro and commented "GabeN pls, why do you rob me like this, I never get anything...".
Then I jokingly said "Ooookay buddy, KNIFE INC!" and we chuckled.

I have never seen the knife icon even show up in a case. But it showed up this time. And the roll slowed to a stop. On the icon.
I freaked the fuck out and my friend called bullshit. Until he saw my inventory.

A field tested M9 Bayonet Urban Masked.
I got lucky. Really really reaally lucky. But my fuck, I'm happy it was a M9, they're my favorite.

So that's my story, haha. It's so recent too, kind of crazy.

Woah, congrats man. Are you planning to sell/trade the knife away, or just keep it?

Thanks! :)
Right now I'm planning on just playing with it. I love the feel of it so probably gonna use it for quite a while. It's not worth THAT much anyway. (about 65 euro)
But we'll see, maybe I'll get bored with it eventually.

Nope. I find it really stupid that a virtual knife is worth more than a gaming system, in certain cases. I mean, why own a virtual knife, when you could sell it, and buy 10 real knives? Even if I would get one out of a crate (which I won't, I don't gamble much on the cases and I'm not that lucky - best I got was a Blue Laminate), I know I'd sell it instantly and do something better with my money.

I've never understood it either. What I really don't get it that when you're playing, you're doing it too quickly (or you should be anyway) to notice the appearance of your weapons.

Eh, not really. My friends and I still go all "oooh" whenever we pick up a nice skin off the ground. The game sometimes plays out slowly, so you have more than enough time to check out some cool skins. It's also important to know that the game is not only about winning; it's about having fun and having nice moments with friends/randoms.

It is ridiculous indeed. But as long as it's expensive, it gives people motive to open more cases to see if they get lucky. I've seen people spend thousands, literally thousands of dollars on cases and keys.

I never bought a weapon skin let alone a knife one. I'm just not that rich. I didn't even get CSGO until last summer sale when it was 6 bucks instead of 20. So everything else seems like unnecessary money squandering for someone like me. I just focus on the necessities until I can afford other luxuries. :p

I'm currently trying to save for a pair of shadow daggers, a lot of people don't like them but I absolutely love the look of them

Currently I have a Karambit Boreal Forest BS. It took me over 6 months of trading to get this knife, and with patience and help from trading buddies, I was able to get my first karambit knife!

Congrats, a karambit always draws attention despite the pattern and wear. It's undoubtedly the sexiest knife skin in game in terms of looks and animations.

Currently, I don't have one, but I am planning to get a decent butterfly knife that goes for around 150$. I love its animation and the way it rotates on your thumb when you inspect it. I also wouldn't mind a karambit knife since its inspecting animation is as cool as the butterfly.

Best of luck! The butterfly knife is a really good option for mid-priced knives. Personally I'd like a Butterfly Fade/Slaughter.

Yes, I do own a knife skin. I currently as of now own karambit marble fade, but it is just a regular one with not much of an appealing pattern. I intend on keeping it for a while until I eventually upgrade to an m9 auto-Tronic in a factory new condition. That m9 is worth around 700$ to 770$. I probably might play with it for a couple of months and cash out the moment I notice a price drop by at least 30$.

I don't own one, and I never will. I feel like it's just not worth to spend that much money on a skin (which doesn't even make you play better). It's just a neat little 'gadget' that some people want to spend lots of money on just so they look better. So no, I don't own one, and I'm not planning on buying one.

Nope, I've never had the luck of getting a knife skin... well it's sort of impossible since I never even bothered to open my cases. I just sell all as I get any.

My personal opinion on the whole knife skins is that they're stupidly overpriced. I understand that they look good and whatnot but paying above $200+ on a cosmetic, in-game item? it seems silly to me. I don't even have that much spare money to spend on such things.

However, I do have a friend that owns several knife skins and always brags about them. He spent a small fortune on them though so I don't know if I'd brag.
