Its still the same. I would better prefer it the way it is, instead of some sort of nunchuks or gorilla controllers.

I forgot that it first came out without analog sticks. what is the difference between the analog and shock though?

The dualshock controller has the "rumble" capability.

There is a lot in common with these controllers. That was by design of simplicity for the most part. However the next PS4 controller is rumored to have a touch screen and be quite a lot different. Will have to see how that works out :p
