    Mario Nintendo's Only Money Maker?

Oh I agree! I was actually thinking that Pokemon was their #1 franchise (and it still might be as far as money goes) so the numbers were a bit of a surprise for me, but they certainly make sense!

What I hate about pc gaming

Yeah, if I could get a TV that filled up the entire wall of my room I'd be all over that  obviously that's a little impractical and cost prohibitive, though. I kind of like the idea of gaming outdoors, that's something I've never really done. . .might have to take my laptop outside when...

What type of game Should we suggest to our parents?

With multiplayer are you thinking more for you to play with them, or for them to play online? I could definitely see wanting to find a game that you could play with them, so that you could kind of help them through some of the tougher parts of a story based game, or maybe let them score a few...

Rate Minecraft out of 10? i need to know before i download it..please

I used to feel like the blocky nature of the game was limiting my ability to actually build what I wanted to, but then I got to see some of the things other people were building in Minecraft and I was shocked to realize how crazy Minecraft can actually get when it comes to designs. There's some...

Why do you think Minecraft has become so popular?

I think I've built almost every single base I've built in Minecraft in the side of a mountain. Something about those giant caverns just gets to me, and I find them to be so much more interesting than building outside. Then you dig down, build your own giant cavern at y=12 and go to town finding...

Should I just Skip the Wii U?

That's fair. I think the fact that Nintendo also put a lot of the top games from the Wii U (Splatoon, MK8, for example) plus Breath of the Wild being on the Switch might make just skipping the Wii U a legitimate option - but I just really want to get one for Mario Maker haha.

    Mario Nintendo's Only Money Maker?

I was curious, so I looked it up. As far as number of sales (not money), Mario is in fact their biggest money maker - which makes sense when you consider that you can pretty much make any game and stick his name on it. That's followed by Pokemon, followed by the "Wii Series" (which includes Wii...

Losing Yourself (and Time) in the Game

That's a good idea! Personally I disable Steam opening with my PC and remove the icon from my taskbar, so I'm not as tempted to just click on it and open a game while I'm supposed to be working on something else. For the most part it helps, and leaves me able to play games at night to kind of...

Planning to upgrade to the New 3DS?

Is this a trend across all consoles, though? I wonder if gaming sales in general are down with the advent of PC and mobile gaming carving out their own very strong sections of the markets. At least Nintendo's jump into the mobile market should help them a lot moving forward.

    Favorite PS2 Game?

Ratchet and Clank was a fun one for sure! I never actually played it myself, but I did watch a friend play it from time to time (it was like my twitch.tv, but before twitch was a thing), and it was so much fun to watch. I'm kind of afraid to go back and play it myself, kind of worried that the...

What is your favorite Nintendo 64 game?

The Pokemon Stadium 2 game is definitely my favorite N64 game. It was such a great approach to the Pokemon Stadium series, and the appearance of the cartridge (split in half between gold and silver) really made that game stand out to me not only at the time, but even now as I'm sitting here today.

    Mario Nintendo's Only Money Maker?

I wouldn't say Mario is the only money maker for Nintendo. In fact, I don't even know if it's their main money-maker these days - it's just the easiest one to use as an IP to represent their company because everyone knows who Mario is, and it's a versatile base to use in various situations. I do...

Planning to upgrade to the New 3DS?

For me at least, I think there's no point in upgrading to the New 3DS unless something happens to my original 3DS (which I got the day the system was released). I just don't like upgrading my consoles when it looks like Nintendo is likely to make a switch (heh) to a new version of the console at...

Should I just Skip the Wii U?

I personally would like to pick up a Wii U, still. While the Switch is an amazing console, there are so many great games available for the Wii U (Mario Maker featuring at the top of that last) I haven't had the opportunity to play yet despite really wanting to, and unfortunately the game isn't...

    Favorite PS2 Game?

I really enjoyed Sonic Heroes on the PS2. While I was a huge fan of Sonic games after having the chance to experience Sonic Adventure 2 Battle on the Gamecube back before I purchased a PS2, Sonic Heroes was the first chance I had to see the variety of characters that actually existed in the...

What I hate about pc gaming

I've got a 30" TV that I use, and that's always been enough to me but it's probably up to personal preference to see what's best for you. As far as gaming outside though, that's a good point. I guess you could take it outside if you had a laptop, but other than that you're kind of constrained...

What are some of the best mobile games?

It's free to play the first three levels (1-1, 1-2, and 1-3), as well as "Toad Rush" which is like a race game mode in which you race against other peoples' times. To unlock the rest of the game it's $10, though, and even though it's a one-time purchase and I wouldn't have to buy anything else...

Losing Yourself (and Time) in the Game

Oooh that's a good point, I didn't think about how often I lose time playing mobile games (although I guess that's what they're designed to do, isn't it?) I've got a few games on my iPhone right now that I start playing thinking I'll just pass 10-15 minutes of time between things I'm working on...

    Steam Summer Sale: 2017

That's a good point. . .my issue is that I'm too lazy to check consistently and pay attention to when the sales come up on the games I'm interested in, so I just end up jumping on the bandwagon and picking up the games I want when I see them in the Steam Sale. You're right though I probably...

What type of game Should we suggest to our parents?

Ooh that's a good point, I didn't really think of mobile games when trying to figure out ways to get parents into gaming. My mother really enjoys playing Words with Friends (she actually plays against my girlfriend all the time), so I guess that's probably her gateway into gaming. I tried...
