You know what builds up a game is the hype, many developers spend months and years building up the hype for their games and even paying big bucks to the social media influences to hype their games.
Though it's good, but the problem is that the games gets so hyped an average gamer like me who plays only soccer, will be forced to go and buy the game with the few bucks i would have used to pull some beer down my spine, only to discover the game is not actually worth the hype.
So these are the games I've played and feel it's not worth the hype and like wise overrated.
- Devil may cry
- The Witcher
- Halo Series
- Destiny

I believe you have played DMC reboot or DMC 4. I have played DMC 3 and honestly, it was one of the best games in hack and slash genre. Other than that Destiny and Halo is for sure quite overrated. Personally, I think that the latest game that I started and thought of it as highly overhyped was Journey. I laughed at some gamer comment that they wept after playing journey .It's Stupid indeed.

Little Big Planet. A lot of gamers went gaga for this game. It was quite unique at the time. It allowed players to make their own levels and share them with others. But it had awful controls which absolutely ruined the experience. I don't know why it got a very high score from review critics. It was good but should not have, in any way, received and 8 or 9 out of 10. I would have given it a maximum of 7 out of 10. It could have been even lower.

I didn't spend much time on it too as I found the whole thing pointless and repetitive.

I would have to say, to much controversy I'm sure, Super Mario Maker. I was honestly shocked at just how much of the central Super Mario experience was missing from the editor. Central mechanics like slopes and ? orbs that end a level once you beat a boss were utterly non-existent. This was made all the more bothersome by the fact that other "game editor" software before it had these features on less-competent hardware. It really bummed me out. As far as I'm concerned Super Mario Maker is the best unrealized idea Nintendo ever had. It's a game that's still in alpha to date and I sincerely hope that company fixes that.

I think for me is candy crush. The hype of these game amongst my friends was out of this world.Sometimes you wouldn't find them for weeks. They will be playing to proceed to the next level.

I didn't really see the need for all that.

Probably any Call of Duty series. It's like everytime there is a fuzz about them people go nuts and it seems everyone has always a say on anything CoD devs do. May it be good or bad, people would always make it a big deal that would eventually catch the attention of all gamers all over the world. Too overrated if you ask me.

You read my mind, I was definitely about to say Black Ops would be at the top of my list. I'd never tried any other Call of Duty games, but when I tried Black Ops I found it extremely boring and almost laughably easy. Granted I only played the first few story mode missions and don't generally play FPS, but it seemed so forgiving (in aiming) and kind of mindless that I was amazed I'd heard so many guys talking about it back in high school. Well, I guess it was high school.

Assassin's creed. To be fair the game isn't really that bad and it is kinda unique, but for some reason it's just too stale for me and kinda boring, especially the scenes where you have to play as Desmond where he isn't an assassin. Yeah, the story's cool and it's nice that it features realistic events, but for some reason it just can't grab me.

I am going to go wayyyyyy....... back on you guys. And the Game was Bruce Lee on the original Xbox. My cousin bought it and it was the dumbest game that I have ever played on a console. No story, just spam the A button until you fall asleep. It's was so mind numbing boring that I quit playing after 15 minutes and told him it was the worst game that I have ever played!

Really, you didn't like Witcher 3? Why? I'm really surprised by that.

I will join those that have mentioned Call of Duty but only the latest ones. Up until Modern Warfare 2 I absolutely loved Call of Duty franchise but after that, it started to decrease in its value since Activision is greedy. However, because they have so many loyal fans they will manage to sell an insane amount of game copies even though that the games are very overrated. They just copy and paste old versions with nothing new. Nothing original or exciting. They are definitely not worth the $60-70. I am still waiting to try World War II though.

Fallout 4. When the game was about to be released, people were salivating over it and how great the series was. It was probably true; New Vegas was apparently a lot better than Fallout 4, but the hype for the game was so immense, I actually had to play it during the release day to see all the hype. Provided, it was good in its own right, but the repetitive quests and one word response choices really sucked. The guns were fun, but the stories were too repetitive, and since I had just finished playing a ton of Skyrim, I had no choice but to compare the map to Skyrim's. F4 had 2 decent sized cities. The rest were 1 house locations with 2 NPCs. How does that measure up to a game released 5 years earlier?

Assasins creed series after revelations went downhill very quickly in my oppinion. I have not bought one of them since ASC:3 as I wasn't pleased with the outcome of the story. I'm hoping they can pick up once again in the future.

Call of Duty-

The games started off good until after Black Ops 2. Games started to go to shit and none of them where actually good. Like infinite warfare was an absolute crap of a game due to the story, as well as Activision and treyarch are now just making Sci-fi cod games instead of actual WW2 games.. Although the new CoD is set in WW2, I'm not going to preorder it, as I would like to see where it goes first.

Space Engineers, but to be fair I never really got into the game. I think it just has a really high learning slope and if I stuck with it a little longer I might have played it more but alas I did not.

I would go with the following games they are absolutely crap for me. They are ;

Mario
Candy Crush Saga
Dragon castle
Dominations

Candy Crush Sage is the one I despise the most out of the above games that I outline above, I just hope nobody bites off my head for making such posts as well. Lol.
