Stardew Valley goals?

Hi guys!

I've been playing Stardew Valley for a little while now, and I've kind of hit a slump, I guess. I'm still not married & my farm certainly doesn't look perfect yet, but I don't feel interested in playing lately. Every day I'll harvest my crops, check on my animals, sell my artisan goods, and do other daily tasks like that. But I don't have a goal to work towards! I know there isn't a way to "win" the game, but just doing chores with no goal feels so pointless.

So, my question for all the Stardew players out there: What are your goals with the game? A perfect, beautiful farm? Attaining all the achievements?

A perfect beautiful farm, that's it, yes. In games like this, with no proper story, or sandbox-games, the goal is what you want it to be. Make the most beautiful farm, the biggest farm, the richest farm, or whatever! Maybe give yourelf a challenge, I don't know, or try to earn each achievement (both in-game and the Steam ones).
Or simply to have fun!

I think that the main point of such games is that there is no pre defined goal. Sure you might complete all the quests and upgrade your farm but the game doesn't punish you for not doing. And that's the beauty of it. There is a script to follow. But you're free to do your own thing also.

I think one of the positive aspects of Stardew Valley is the lack of story structured goals. You can do whatever you want! Right now I'm playing around with my farm and trying to get everyone to like me hahaha. Just do whatever you want and what you enjoy doing.

I've been playing nonstop the past few days, I've mostly been concerned first with reaching the last level of the mines and then of finishing the community center bundles! Now I think I'm gonna start focusing on getting married...I'm usually pretty worried about running out of things to do in these games too, but it's been nice especially since there are SO MANY things to do. Having the townspeople sending me on random quests helps too. I feel like there's always stuff going on, which really exceeded expectations when I started playing this game.

There really is SO much to do in this game! It can sometimes feel a little overwhelming, lol.

Have you decided who to marry yet? I can't seem to decide XD I liked Penny and Maru at first, but Haley has really grown on me too.

Yeah, those kind of games doesn't present you with an objective like "Do X to Get Y." Instead, they let you run free and accomplish the objectives that you feel like. Much better that way in my opinion. Want to get married? Cool. Want to stay single? Coo too! Want to be a rancher? Just Fine! Want to be a farmer only? Also fine. It's much better than having a game telling you what to do constantly

My goal is to get my farm up to it's most efficient functioning so I can be a rich jerk. I'd also like to work toward getting all of the packages in the old town hall completed so I can get all of the gifts and restore the building to how it was. Getting married would be a perk, too. I've also read that there is another place you can explore once you get the skeleton key and do some other things, but I haven't ever gotten that far. Just like you, my interest in Stardew Valley is fading.

I need to just power through and start working toward my next objective.

The good thing about this game is you goal depends on what you want. You can't go wring with this game.

My goals are:

1) make a beautiful farm
2) make sure that the farm is very profitable,
3) start socializing with the villagers,
4) mine and explore the desert,
5) do all of the hidden quests.

I think that Stardew Valley is amazing because it doesn't set too many quests. You get some but they're not obligatory to do. If I was you, I'd just try and do something that I haven't before. Did you even unlock the desert and casino yet? :D

I just got married yesterday actually! I went with Elliott in the end, I like his room expansion a lot, it makes everything look very homey and nice.
