Has anyone checked out the Steam Workshop for your favorite game? You could be surprised with the selection of mods!
Has anyone made a mod on the workshop? Feel free to share it!

My favorite has to be the Synergies Mod for Torchlight 2.

I like to browse the Steam Workshop for custom hero skins/weapon designs for DotA 2, TF2 and CS:GO. There's plenty of great content out there, and workshop artists lucky enough to have their designs accepted for the game do make a decent amount of money.

I did make a CS:GO skin largely for fun, it's pretty bad compared to the top-rated items on the workshop :p

I see that people get quite creative with the designs! C'mon your design isn't too bad, quite a nice contrast of colors I think!

I definitely agree on your favorite mod it is also mine. There are also a ton of fun mods for GMOD.

I've checked out the workshop a few times, I've downloaded a lot of Portal 2 maps from the Workshop. There's so many to choose from, with really interesting puzzles, and give me a reason to keep playing even though I've beat the main game so many times.

There's also some mods with alternative paths endings for the russian visual novel Everlasting Summer which were fun to play through.

I don't necessarily have a favorite mod for Steam workshops. I like mod websites and think they are cool.

It's much easier for me to use the Steam workshop instead of scouring websites for mods and then manually implementing the changes (I guess I'm very lazy :p). I wasn't really a heavy weight mod user for the most part, the ones I used to use before steam are only mods for the sims. My current favorite mods are probably Stardew Valley skin alterations.

I don't know. Last time I checked there was a selection of crappy non free mods for Skyrim. But I didn't delve too much into Steamshop offers, probably nowadays there are a ot of better options out there. Now in regards of modding, I did some very minor character aesthetic changes in the past for Morrowind.

I get many of the Skyrim mods, and I thought they where pretty good. I mostly get wardrobe and armor mods. I do however, get some mods from Nexus. Some of the mods on Steam require extra mods that I get at Nexus. I can't remember all the mods I have gotten, cause I went crazy and subscribed to a bunch of them. One in particular had a flying sky ship, that you can use as a base of operations. The ship could be steered all over Skyrim. When you first discover the ship it is guarded by the Thalmor, outside of Solitude.

I'm not really in the modding scene. Honestly I don't know why: I often see very good mods for games that I like, but there is just something that make me want to actually avoid them.
For example recently The Binding of Isaac Rebirth, one of my favourite games, got a Workshop update. I tried some mods for the sake of it, but then I kept on playing the vanilla game...
And I'm mad at me for this feeling, this weird relationship I have with mods! I completely support Workshop mods, and I think many games will have long lives thanks to it, but they are just not for me... but why, I don't know...

Hi, I like to check the Steam Workshop for buying new skins and cases for my game CSGO. This is my actual game that I play the most and I always check to buy new stuff to raise my rang there!

The first time I checked the workshop was for Guacamelee (custom skins here and there), and they were pretty nice, although nothing to write home about. Then I checked Skyrim's, but I was already using Nexus Mod Manager, so no point in using both (considering the latter had a much broader selection).
Portal 2, however, has an astounding workshop. There are hundreds of custom levels, and most are very clever and almost on par with the original games' quality, and they can keep you going for a long time. Probably the game that made the best use out of it

Portal 2 workshop is amazing! Some of them are so incredibly good that they even got a proper Steam page! Have you tried Portal Stories Mel, or Thinking with time machine? There is even that Painting Gun Test Initiative where they got rid of the Portal gun in favor of a paint gun... it's not even free, so it must be good!
But seriously, I have yet to find a single bad map in Portal 2. Amazing playerbase.

Mel has to be one of the best things to come out of game modding, period. It even got won the "Best Fan Creation" award at The Game Awards 2015 (in the same year as Twitch Plays Dark Souls, mind you). It's so well crafted it's hard to tell it's a fan-made.
I heard about the Painting Gun Initiative Test, but with all the free mods around here I didn't even consider buying it. It must really be something.

Speaking on something related to Portal 2 that i'ts just on the Workshop, the series of map called "12 Angry Tests" are worth check it if you aren't already. In every map there are actually two different puzzles, one after each other with some element that integrates in both of them... From what I read those maps aren't made with the in-game editor, but with actual programming and stuff so the author was able to do something pretty cool and original. I wonder if they'll ever got a release as a stand-alone Steam page like Mel.

Oh, I know them, I had fun with them! Nice series of maps for sure.
The workshop actually made me curious as to how custom maps were made. Some of them were simply made with the game's level editor, which is pretty complete on its own, but scripting events or making custom items is impossible there. Some of the most complicated ones are made with tools derived from the game's SDK itself, like the Portal 2 Authoring Tools. Some people even made a mod for the level editor itself and called it BEEMOD (Ben's Extended Editor, I believe it is), which is somewhere in-between the two. I found it really cool for a game to have so many different ways to create custom maps.
