Returning a game you bought?

Actually, this happened only once, because I rarely buy games from gaming shops. At that time, when I inserted the CD in my PC it didn't open, so, I went back to the store and return it. They wanted to give me another game in stead for the broken one but I have refused it and they returned my money!

As long as the refund button works I'm not really worried. Steam gives you 2 hours to test the game and I think that's enough time to go through the tutorial area and learn a good deal about the game. When I like a game, I keep it. But if I don't like what I see, it's easier to just get a refund and buy something else, rather than have buyer's remorse and have to look at the game you spent for at your library for the rest of your life. I'm being dramatic but hey, my point stands.

I heard that the 2hour playtime is very flexible from comments on r/gaming, but I've only returned a game since I couldnt play the game with below minimum specs. I dont recall the name, but it was similar to Saints Row but had Blue in the name. I wish I knew about refunds before tho, but now I have a better system to finally test PayDay 2, The witcher-final hunt, etc.

I only have Payday 2 in my library because I got it for free in one of those daily features thing. I never would have bought it on its own accord since I know the game company behind it has been releasing DLCs non-stop, trying to milk all the money they can out of their loyal customers. They have biker skins, gun skins, voice actors, etc. No way I'm paying for all that. No way I'm supporting a game company that does that to their fans. They really want to release a ton of DLCs because they think it will help make the game better? Make it free then. Don't charge $5 per DLC and hope your loyal fans buy every single one of them.

Have you ever done this because the game was not good at all? I have done this a very few rare times.. Like only 5-6 times in my entire life... But have you ever done it?

Yes it happened to me also. I purchased game thinking that it would be good to play.But after try it I found that it is only pathetic and fooled by the game I just bought.

I have only refunded a game once and it was because I didn't find the game fun. I purchased the game through Steam and luckily enough, I have not yet played the game for 2 hours, which was the requirement for refunding a game. The next time I tried to refund another game, which was Space Engineers, I failed to do so because I exceeded a playtime of 2 hours. It was just then that I realized that the game was not worthwhile for me. Now it's just stuck in my game library and sometimes I reflect on my past decisions.

Never returned a game before. I usually check the game play or reviews on youtube before I buy one. Aside from that, It is definitely good to know that there is a limit of 2 hours before I cannot refund the game on steam.

No I never returned a game, even with the recent introduction of Steam refunds.
Well... I have tried to refund No Man's Sky since I needed a bit of money and the game was a huge disappointment, but I already played it too much. Glad I wasn't able to since it improved a lot.
Aside from that, never returned a game.

Steam refunds are a great idea but I'm a little skeptical of the conditions. They're too vague to rely on. You can only return if you haven't abused it, which is how it's worded instead of giving you a specific number. You also can only return a game if you've only played it for so long. I don't mind that, but they only give you about two hours, which isn't even enough time to pass the trainers on some of these games.

Two hours is fair enough to see if you like a game or not in my opinion. And if you played more than two hours you can try and write the support to explain the situation: sometime they'll make an exception (I know it happened a lot with No Man's Sky), sometime they won't... but you could always retry.
