I'd like to know what MMORPG games everyone plays or has played other than the ones listed in the section that you consider worth playing.

I previously played APB:Reloaded and I loved it and would recommend giving it a try if you like customization however it has it's ups and downs and might currently be low on population. Currently I am playing Swordsman Online, it's like a rip-off of Age of Wushu/Wulin however it's a lot better in my opinion regarding the combat system. If you like free to play MMO's I'd recommend Swordsman Online.

Just let me know what you guys like to play and some information about the game.

Unfortunately, I've played way too many MMOs to tell you about them all. Even Korean knockoffs of Knockoffs. I've played them all for about to max level and enjoyed them for what they were. Name it and I can tell you about it, their in game systems, and some tricks.

As for what I'm playing RIGHT NOW, I'm back on an old game UBISOFT canned ages ago called Shadowbane. Fullscale PVP, full bag loot when outside safe zones if you're murdered. Complete control over the economy and seige-able cities (called BANES) and a completely player driven war system it's very unique. However, some people can't deal with right click to move and no WASD. This an older game that was discontinued but they brought an emulated server back up better than ever. Here's a map of the world:

ScreenShot07162014_12_20_38.jpg

Each of those "Shields" with Heraldry you see is a player ran city or nation. There are hundreds more in-game on their evolving map that can be torn down, or replaced. Many nations and towns fight over those locations on the map, and since it's fullscale PVP it means anyone not you(or a guild friend) is a target. No remorse. Play. Crush. Conquer.

The GMS have little say in what goes on and it's mostly all player driven. Of course the GMS can ban/uphold rules, but they never interfere in general gameplay. I remember owning four cities when I played, two of which were trade cities and located two-and-two on Anderon (above) and Relloth. One was a guild city, for our nation, and my home base. The others were unaffiliated, ran by a non-guilded alt so they were 'neutral' shopping towns. Anybody can make a city, drop items in it, level it up. The beauty is there is so much space. Of course there's a limit to how many towns can be placed and occupy areas, but it's interesting to see how each one is designed (from the ground up) you place everything. I made four sets of outer walls on my trade city each with the highest HP wall sections I could find so I could last through sieges until my friends could get there to defend my city.

With the sheer number of races and classes, the game has no stale play. You want a two handed warrior? Bash some face in. Want a mage who can stealth? play a shade mage. You want a thief who can peek into bags and steal other peoples hard earned loot? Do it. I for one love Vampire Necromancers, and lifetapping the heck out of people/having a damage reduction cap shield on all times as to not suffer more than 10% of my health in one hit - to avoid ambushes.

No matter what you decide, the game is huge. The graphics ARE dated, but the gameplay is so fun you look past them. It may be point and click and hotkeys, but keep in mind the game is from like 2001+.

I've heard of Shadowbane before, there's a ton of older games that are out-dated but still offer some of the best gameplay. I always put the gameplay before graphics anyways since graphics mean almost nothing to me if the game itself is fun. One of my favorite games that I wish they would bring back is Gunz: The Duel, they came out with Gunz 2 and I hated it because it just seemed to focus on slightly better graphics but the game itself lost a lot of great qualities that made it such a good game originally. I recently tried playing BladeandSoul, I believe it's a Chinese game but I could be wrong, I just remember having to do all these downloads and English patches to play it, eventually I just uninstalled it cause of the lack of English players and the lag was a little annoying. Anyways I looked into Shadowbane just now and it doesn't look half bad, it seems like it might be turn-based but correct me if I'm wrong lol. When it comes to private servers and emulators there's a lot of older games out there that are worth giving a shot.

Definitely not turn based. If you would like to see a video of a "Siege" or Bane, and it also includes gameplay and how you see the world. Like I said, it's not polished but the fact it was ubisoft made was a very good way to say non-buggy, to be completely honest. I never really had issues with crashing, lag, or anything. Sometimes the login server was down but that's just maintenance and random issues. There are some issues with pathing and AI, but 2001. So heh. It's also narrated in ventrilo by the baners.

As you can see. It's 3 Hours. I know if you don't want to watch all of it, skip around. But that's what is so fun, the siege feels so real because it takes so much time and effort to get through walls with trebs, tents, the right parties, scouts flying around. You name it, it's a hectic battlefield.

Since it's now ran by the people who love it in the emulator, they've also updated a lot of content and added plenty of new custom ideas. And I like the roving 'hotspots' for exp in the game, every 1-2 hours it switches to a new location so you can always find people to kill/monsters to hunt for loot. *just keep an eye on track!*

I also remember Gunz: The Duel (very first map and release, I used to play it in my highschool programming classes) Kstylin everything and butterflying around like nobody's business. Dagger and SMG ftw as well. Knockdown/up fire away. People hated it ,but man was it effective! :D

Here's another shadowbane fight, something quicker, over the resources generated on the world map called "mines" that are attackable for a small window every night for anybody to claim.

It's smaller, faster hectic paced combat. I've even ninja'd a mine at the last second by rushing in my scout with prospector (a discipline rune that allows claiming for mines) invisible. They were all thinkin they had it claimed for their nation while fighting and owning the other people chasing them down. Man they raged at me. I also got a +1 Best Ninja comment. Lol.

At the moment I'm taking a break from WoW because my job situation is uncertain and I don't want to pay a subscription fee until I can get more stable.

I'm considering getting back into Rift, or perhaps giving The Secret World another go... I've got the quest done that'll get me the fake license to get into Tokyo, I just need enough money to buy it now.

Also considering giving Elder Scrolls Online a try.

I'm alternating between Shadowbane and EverQuest and Ultima Online. I'm an older gamer, and those were my roots. And on this craptop, they can still be played and enjoyed. So, more reason.

If you need hooked up with any old MMOs still running on private shards or servers, I'm the guy to talk too as well.

Final Fantasy 14: Realm Reborn! This MMO is by far the best I've played in a very long time though it does cost roughly £6 a month there's a lot to keep you busy, It's currently on Steam and you do actually have to buy the game first and then purchase a subscription in order to play I believe you do receive 2 weeks free when you purchase the game and create a new account.

I'm actually playing a lot of Spiral Knights at the moment. It's a pretty cute, cool dungeon crawler type of game with hack and slash gameplay. And free to play, though there are optional add-ons, but you can easily play your way up to the top. I made an account back when it was first released, but hadn't really gotten into it that much. It used to have a mist system where you could only play for a certain amount of time each day unless you paid, but that got removed, so it's better now.

I always wanted to try The Secret World but I'm not a fan of pay to play games and I was certain TSW was one. As for Rift, I tried it but I found Tera's combat system to be better personally. Elder Scrolls Online kind of left me head hung due to the expectations I had for it to be like Oblivion/Skyrim, of course I've only played the beta and I've heard that it has improved a lot since then so I might give ESO another shot, I tried not to juggle between too many games as I like to give them each dedicated time so I don't fall behind my friends.

I'm not currently playing an MMO (sadly), but games I'm highly anticipating are Tree of Savior, Lost Ark, and Black Desert. Regarding Black Desert though, I was way hyped for that game around when it was first announced, but it's the general opinion that they're making too many unnecessary adjustments to the game now for it to be true to its intended market. Supposedly the game is going to be adjusted according to region, but as usual, I'm just waiting to see what happens.

I play Forsaken World. It's one of my favorite games even though the endless grinding is keeping me from wanting to play as much as I used to. I love how pretty the characters are and I think that's the main reason I keep going back, haha.

I'm currently playing this game called Mabinogi Online. I don't think it's very popular, but for those who are wondering, it's basically a MMORPG with a lot of classes.

As you can see above, a lot of the classes (or talent, as it is called in the game) are very unique, and you can't find them in any other MMORPG games. And I absolutely love that. In fact, it's one of the main reasons why I like the game so much. At the moment, I'm playing as a Chef, and it's really great because you don't actually have to fight to level up (not that I don't like fighting, it's just that having alternative ways to level up is very refreshing). We level up mainly by gathering ingredients and cooking (duh). And no in case you're wondering, most of the ingredients you need aren't dropped by monsters. You get milk from milking cows, vegetables from the grocery store and so on. The only time you have to fight is really when you're milking cows and you have to fight off wolves so they don't kill your cows. Or when you have to fight off foxes when you're collecting eggs so they don't kill the chickens. They're both really weak though, they usually die in one or two hits.

Damn I remember playing that game like crazy back in high school. I'm surprised it's still up, but then again I don't think Nexon is known to let things die :s. I distinctly remember long nights with friends stomping foxes. I can't really explain how I found it fun, but it was a really fun game.

Hello, friend! I'm also playing FFXIV. I played XI for years and jumped on XIV:ARR a little after it came out. It's a fantastic game shortly after patches drop when it's at its peak, and it's decent when it's in a lull period (such as right now) if only for the graphics and world it's built. It will only keep getting better. If anyone wants a friend code to try the game out hit me up.

Personally I try to stay away from F2P models and especially P2W models. I find that F2P doesn't offer enough good updates, the communities tend to be too casual and all the cool stuff is in the cash shop, making it difficult not to spend more than you normally would on a sub fee per month.

I've tried the free trial and I find this game amazing. It's very different from any other MMORPG and it FEELS like a classic Final Fantasy. I usually don't play these kinds of games but this made me think of actually sticking with it. Unfortunately I feel like I'm wasting money if I have to buy a subscription to play it. It's not because it's not worth it, but because I know already I won't have the time to play it. :p But it's a really good game, I agree.

I play FFXIV exclusively now after getting through with 10 years of WoW. It's like a nice MMO retirement home. At a casual level, the fights are much easier than WoW, if I want to be self sufficient I can spend all day crafting and gathering if I want to, and the community is much nicer. Totally worth actually paying for a subscription. (I had been paying my WoW sub with gold the past several years, even though it was technically against the ToS before the token came out.)

I don't play anymore, but I used to really enjoy Torchlight 2. It was a fun and simple game with a nice community. It gets a bit tiring after awhile, but so do all MMORPGS.
