I play FFXIV exclusively now after getting through with 10 years of WoW. It's like a nice MMO retirement home. At a casual level, the fights are much easier than WoW, if I want to be self sufficient I can spend all day crafting and gathering if I want to, and the community is much nicer. Totally...

I prefer not to play games that are free to play. I've found that the communities are worse. Free to play tends to attract a lot of children and other poor players. Of course, there are always exceptions, but generally that's what I've observed.

Okay, that made me buy the game too. I'd been holding off on this game because I thought it was a boring indie title from the things I'd seen. I love games with a lot of replay value so I'm looking forward to digging into this soon.
