Start disliking a game

Has it ever happened that all of a sudden you started disliking a game and that too to an extent that you never wanted to play it again?.

This happened with me when I used to play Candy Crush. It had become my biggest obsession and all I did the whole day was to play the game. But after a few months I suddenly started disliking it and one day immediately uninstalled it from my phone.

Here I would like to mention that I was about to reach the high level but I gave up for reasons unknown

I had this game called Clash Royale installed on my phone last year. I was so hooked on the game that sometimes I had sleepless nights just playing the game. One day I had this worst loosing streak that made me rethink the game. Then just like that, I deleted the game.

Lol, I had the same experience but with a different game. It happened with Golf Clash (I posted about this game in another thread). I was hooked by its easy to learn, hard to master golf gameplay. I won a lot and gained a lot of in-game cash. My level increased rapidly. Then I got cocky.

I started to enter harder competitions with much better opponents. I kept on losing until I had no money left. I was frustrated. I still loved playing but I was so frustrated that it also promoted me to uninstall the game because I lost all the cash that I have previously earned. Bye Golf Clash, I'll miss you.

Oh yes, this has happened to me a few weeks ago. I was playing Farm Heros Saga ( you must know this game, is a game from Facebook) for a long, long time ago and I have a high level is over 1400, but suddenly got bored and dislike this game. I cannot play it anymore, being alone there I feel there is no competition so, in the end, I gave up on this game!

Yes of course, I like gaming and I enjoy many games but sometime it happens that I started disliking a game, because it got boring or I just stopped enjoying it for whatever reason. If that's the case, i don't push myself forward to play it - I have a big enough backlog already.
Some examples? Well No Man's Sky is a game I'm sure is on many many people list in this case. The same applies to Far Cry 2, and I also disliked a lot Lucius, which had a great premise but a terrible gameplay. All three of them (but there are many more) are games that I enjoyed when starting them, but slowly I started to.. well, hate them. Almost.

This started happening to me with a game I never thought it would, Stardew Valley. I have been in love with and absolutely obsessed with Stardew Valley for the past few months. I had actually set out on a quest to earn all the achievments from the game because I like it so much.

This choice is one that I regret because I have now started hating Stardew Valley. It can get so incredibly tedious once you start aiming for the harder achievments, and one of them is just straight up impossible if you aren't extremely lucky. But I will make it, somehow I will make it.

Skyrim is that game for me. To be clear, I really do like the game and I'm not saying it's not a quality piece of software. But I just over played it. I have half a dozen characters with like 500+ hours on each and I just can't do it anymore. I've seen both sides of every major quest line in the game several times and there's just nothing left to entertain me there anymore.

I used to play Candy Crush and Farm Heroes Saga. I was even addicted to those games. I was playing those games on a daily basis. However after some time I got so bored of both games and decided that I don't want to play any such games again. My friend still plays Candy Crush. I just can't watch her playing this.

Mobile gaming addiction does take away our sleep. It only reason is that the game becomes easily accessible anytime and anywhere. They are always so tempting to play while lying on the bed. The same happened with me when I started playing Candy Crush and deleted the game all if a sudden because of irritation.

This was the case for me when I played Saints Row The Fourth and Watchdogs. At first both games felt like they are very fun to play because of the freeroam and open world features that they have. I then realized that both games lack something. I was even surprised that I started to dislike them especially Watchdogs, seeing as how I was hyped up for the game before the actual release.
Another game that had me quit for good was Tetris Battle. I was so frustrated from playing too much because I wanted to defeat my ex in the game. I was stuck at level 53.

Only turn off I can think of is when a game gives me motion sickness. First person games mostly; but the biggest offender was Talos Principle. I loved the idea of puzzles and logic, but I can't play 30 minutes without being so dizzy I had to lie down a bit. It's not worth it in my opinion; as I play for 30 minutes, get dizzy, and then spend the entire day in bed. I haven't even reached 1/4 of it I think.

I understand your sentiments. After my first save, I find the things kinda hard to push to the next level to improve my performance. It riles me up a bit so I'm taking a break from the game.

Your post makes me feel that I'm not alone. There are many gamers who get bored and start disliking a game all of a sudden. Thankfully we all have a wide variety of games to choose from. So we can easily let one go off and pick up another.

I see a lot of people complaining about motion sickness with that game! Have you tried playing in 3rd person? Because it's a really good game that deserves to be played!
Speaking of motion sickness, I never managed to completely like the original Alien VS Predator, just for the Alien... it was the coolest character to play as probably, but it was so weird and it gave me lot of motion sickness. I don't know why, usually in other game I never have it, but that was just... weird.

This happened to me when i played Duke Nukem forever. I have always been a DK fan and untill the middle of the game i was loving it despite everyone telling me the game was horrible. Then from the middle and beyond i realized how repetitive and poorly made the game was done.

when I was playing starcraft competitively, I would always get exhausted after a game. after a while I didn't really like that heavy feeling and started moving away from strategy games.

It helped a bit, but still made me dizzy the entire day, to the point that I got entirely sick (literally) with dizziness and nausea. I really wanted to enjoy the game, but the motion sickness was a deal breaker. I did everything I tried when I get motion sick in other games like changing the FOV and slowing down the mouse camera control, but still nothing.

I was hooked on FGO for months, but it's so hard to forge for new cards, yet enough to summon a 5* servant... The ridiculous statistics for that totally ruined the game for me, even though I love the whole fate universe, and I'm a super addicted nerd to it.
Congrats, Japan :feelsbadman:

I rarely get burned-out by playing games, since I tend to find new ones to play pretty quickly, but it did happen. When I was a kid, I used to play Rayman 2 on my PSX a lot, and I obsessed over collecting every single Lum. The thing is... it wasn't easy at all. It took me a lot of time to access the final level, and after I did I held such a grudge against the game that I immediately snapped the disk out and never looked back at it. It was years before I touched the game again.

It happen to me recently with candy crush! I use to love that game and played it every day for at least an hour or two. I was in a really high level and I couldn't complete it. After a while I managed to complete it but it was turning repetitive and I ended up deleting the game... Maybe later I 'll play it again , who knows, but now I just don't want to play it anymore.
