Yup, thank technology the USB came along. Even at 128 mb for a cheap USB stick it was an infinitely better option than the floppy disc. They're easier to read, they store more, and at the end of the day you don't have to worry about the file size of your Word document since the storage doesn't have to be so incredibly limited and unreliable that you would have to create backups and more backups.
The 80s video game boom sounded fun. I bet the early games, even though it had very short gameplay and basically pixel graphics, were still an amazing feat at the time. I remember playing my first video game as a kid and it blew my mind because it was a lot more fun than having to play with real toys that break and stuff. In games, you can do a lot more things, and that's why I've always been a fan since. It must have been awesome having to see games in their origins and having to play them as they evolved into what they are now.
One of the things I hated about floppy disks was the fact they were so flimsy. A couple of mine broke simply by staying in my backpack getting tossed around. It was pretty annoying to deal with them.
That, and the floppy disc drives on printing shops back then had really crappy reading capabilities. It works in your computer, but since the printing shop uses a crappy old model (even at the time), they won't be able to read your work and you either had the foresight to create multiple copies on different discs, you'll be heading to school with an empty hand and we all know what happens next.
