Free games vs Paid games?

I much prefer paid games because there's an unwritten contractual obligation that the title be of a certain quality or the market rejects it. With free-to-play games you are the product. They finance themselves by making you a living revenue stream. This is done either by marketing in-game goods and services via micro-transactions, or by collecting and selling private data to other companies with little oversight in how it will be used. Entertainment is great, but I do expect to be treated like a person and not a product.

I mostly play paid games because the quality is much better than the free games. But I think the quality of free games is catching up quickly. Take for instance Asphalt Extreme on Android. The quality of that game is top notch, I honestly would compare the quality to a AAA game. Its by far my favorite free game.

The only downfall of the game is they bombard you with commercials. It seems like almost everything you do in the game is tied to a commercial. But if you don't mind commercials I highly recommend the game its very fun and addicting.

I only play free games on my phone to be honest because the majority of games on the play store are free. But with my PS4, all my games are paid games. I rarely play free games on the PS4 because they are usually awful, I think there is literally one decent free to play game and its World of Tanks. Other than that all the games are awful. Whereas on mobile, there are quite a lot of great free to play games and that is because they tend to push micro-transactions so they make great games that are free. I used to play Clash of Clans and Clash Royale but don't anymore. Right now I'm playing FIFA Mobile and that is a pretty good free game.

PC games and Console games. I'm a PC gamer but when playing multiplayer on PC, you're bound to encounter cheaters. On its counterpart console titles though, a cheater encounter would be very rare. Developing hacks for PC games are way easier to do while on console, it's a lot harder since they'll also have to bother how they will get it installed to the system, which seems to deter most would-be cheaters. So if you want to buy game and don't want to worry about cheaters, consider buying it on a Console platform.

Oh aye, that's what I meant. Even though I prefer PC over consoles due to the possibility of performing other tasks and the versatility of customizing your settings (I currently own a laptop) I can definitely agree with you there. What I meant is that I'd not advise anyone to spend money on mobile gaming since I believe we should get the most bang for our buck.

Really? Do you really prefer spending cash over free gaming for that reason? Usually, I prefer it because paid games are higher quality. I wouldn't mind so marketing here and there if the game was decent. Also if there is one thing I can't stand that thing is pay to win schemes.

Well I know some people think that you can only get the best games by buying them but I tend to disagree. There are lots of games you can download on the internet that still make sense. I downloaded grand theft vice city crack online for free and I've been enjoying the game on my PC. Besides, I don't really have to buy anything since its cracked.

What you downloaded was not a free game in the first place though. You downloaded a crack. I really don't suggest downloading a crack as most cracks tend to come with malware and you really wouldn't want that on your system.

You also hurt the developers of the game by downloading a cracked version since you are hurting their sales.

As far as a play station is concerned I always play paid games. But for the mobile games I have always download the free ones only. The Playstore has abundant good quality games which are free to download. I usually avail the top rated free ones only.

Depends really. I would play more paid games if I had more money, and a better PC. My PC is too weak to support new games, and because of that I have no reason in buying new games at all. Even though I would like to play some of them. So I am sticking to the free ones for now mostly.

Paid games are usually much better quality but I have no problems with free to play games. As long as the games are supported fairly by ads or purely cosmetic add-ons that offer little to no benefits. Unfortunately most mobile free to play games are plagued by micro transactions that are nearly required to advance in the game.

Paid games typically have more content and development behind them. It takes money to develop a game and so it'll cost money to recoup that cost and gives companies and developers more incentive to put forth something that people will buy. Free to play isn't on the same scale. Most of the games are for casual gameplay in mind and development is lower on the scale- meaning actual content is little to none after x hours spent on it. Plus with the Pay 2 Play for extra skins for a game that isn't worth much only encourages more glut of empty content games just to feed either gambling addictions or people who just want pretty looking art.
Free to play games make profit by selling in-game items for looks, or even blatantly sell upgrades that make the game easier. For paid games, it's still about profit. Game devs would prefer making the most profit out of the most minimal work. That's why paid mods are a thing, they want a large percentage (if not all) of the modding community without having to do any of the work. It's a sad day to be a gamer with all these expenses. Can't we all just play the game??

Before I go further into it, I first have to say that there are definitely a good number of free games out there that can match the value and content of many paid games. Many free games available on Steam such Warframe, Path of Exile, and Team Fortress 2 among several others, are titles with triple A content and don't cost a dime.

That being said, anyone that takes gaming as a relatively serious hobby is going to end up spending money because while paid games can be good, they're limited in numbers. That and the number of free games which are mediocre or worse severely outnumber games which are genuinely good. It isn't to say that just because you pay for a game it's going to be good, but on average paid games tend to have better content.

There are loads of websites that offers free games on the internet. I started taking advantage of these sites and have not bought any games for the past 2 years. There are really no difference between paid and free games so i find it hard to buy games when i can easily download for free.LOL

To me, I value a game based on the experience it can offer me. Whilst free games are, well, you know, 'free', they often have in-app or in-game purchases that make it just as bad as buying the game as a product in the first place. However, if what the game has to offer me is a good experience then I'll gladly pay a few bucks for it.

I play free games and paid games and both are very good. Usually I play more free games, but when the game is very good, I just do not mind paying for it as long as the price is fair.

All depends of the situation, if i dont have money to spend i play Free to play games, that is sadly my situation in the most of the cases for me, but if i have money to spend or the steam sales come early this year, i prefer de paid games of course.

I have downloaded a lot of games, free and paid games it doesn't matter for me. All that matters is that game to be a good one to play, and have references from my friends or people I know online. If the game is good and worth to invest I would buy it, if it is free is much better!

I think the question of "free" x "paid" is just a detail (of course it's something that can make a considerable difference in the quality aspect as a whole) when there really is a willingness to play a particular game.
