Is "I enjoy gaming because is fun" a bad answer... ? No because that is literally why I enjoy gaming! This is kind of obvious, but if you don't have fun while playgin games then... why are you playing?
I can't seem of a thing I enojy besides the fun: you could say the plots, but there are many games without plot. Where's the plot in puzzle games? But I have fun with them too! You could say is the action, but there are games without action. There are so many different kind of games, and I enjoy having fun with them! It's a nice way to spend time, at evening, afternoon or morning, whenever I can.
Just simple, plain, fun.

So true!! I forgot to mention the main reason I enjoy gaming, IT'S FUN! All these other technical things matter as well. However, if you're not having fun while gaming, then you shouldn't be gaming. For a while, I put down the controller for my console, and the keyboard and mouse for my PC. I did this because I realized I wasn't enjoying gaming the way I should. I'm a naturally competitive person, so when I feel I'm not winning or doing well, I blow up pretty quickly. One day, after having a serious rage on CS:GO, I went to the mirror and saw something in my eyes I didn't like. I was taking the fun out of it all together. I don't like that, and I never want to go back to that.

Moral of the story is this... Whether it's gaming or any other activity/hobby, if you're not enjoying and having fun, don't do it. Put the controller down, go outside, breath so air and meet up with your friends.

I mostly play games where there is a lot of focus on the story, because the thing I like most about gaming is the fact that you can go on an adventure with the main characters. When the story is really well done and not too cliche I can really get into it, and I can get emotionally attached to the characters as well. I think this, and the fact that it's often not too realistic, is the reason I enjoy gaming.

I think the reason why I still play video games is that I just enjoy doing things I'm not able to do in real life just yet. Like riving a lambo, or flying from the ground to a mountain, or playing the guitar like a rockstar... I don't know, I guess it's just the feeling what makes me just keep playing and playing..

Well, for one thing, it beats the heck out of watching TV. I'd much rather do something that requires at least some action, instead of sitting around. I think gaming is a much better way to stay sharp too, rather than mindlessly absorbing television shows and commercials.

I really like playing with other people too. It's not like you want to sit and talk the whole time if you're trying to find out what's happening in a show or movie, but you can gab all you want while playing a game.

It's just good, relaxing, fun.

It's weird how much more social my gaming has gotten. I looked in the mirror and realized I haven't played a good turn based RPG in a while and that's because I'm always so busy playing games with my friends. However when I game solo its usually for story plus fun reasons. I love a good plot but damn it better be skipable for when I come back to play it again soon

Gaming is the hobby that has introduced me to so many new friends both in real life, and online. Its a topic I like to discuss with others whenever its brought up. Finally the great stories that some games portray always keep me playing.

It's interesting reading all of your answers because there truly are so many different reasons as to why people enjoy playing games.

I enjoy gaming because it's fun, a great distraction from the real world or any problems you are currently facing. It's entertaining and educational at times. It is also a good way to play and meet new people that share the same passion for gaming as you do. I always loved to play games to sort of escape reality, not that my real life is horrible. But it is still this unique environment where you can be completely free, relax and let yourself go.

It seems like a lot of people choose gaming over other activities because it provides a social outlet. That was one of the big things that drew me in, in the beginning. It was nice having other people to talk to and play with. At the time, we lived in the boonies, so it was a needed outlet.

I guess that's why I prefer MMORPGs. I like playing with lots of other people and making friends. Even the people you just group up with temporarily can be fun to chat with. Still, it's great when you make (and keep) a new friend.

Like you @Empire, there are people I've stayed friends with for several years that I met through online games.

shame that this guy doesn't have time to do much as his job takes over, He does 12 hours shift and takes an hour to get to work. Still we talk on KIK and so it's if we aren't stopped you know

I'm part of the reality escapers. Quoting No Game No Life, "This world is just... a crappy game." Playing games give me a sense of liberation. I feel like I don't have to adhere to every rule and norm society places upon everyone. When you play games, the payout in them is equal or greater to the effort you sink into it. I see myself clumsily aiming an arrow in a game, and a few hours later get headshots against any enemy.

I do realize this kind of thinking isn't good. I still work on stuff in the real world, but don't expect me to place devotion into something if I'm not even going to see the reward in it.

I enjoy the challenge of some games, and the simplicity of others. Personally I love online gaming against other players from around the world.

For me there are two reasons and that is one, to get away from it all. It can really be relaxing after a full days work. The other reason is because you can do things in games that you couldn't in real life.

Well, other than having fun, there are many other reasons why I enjoy gaming.

Multiplayer games for example, you get a chance to meet some fun fellas. Be it by chatting in the game, getting into touch with each other voice chats as well, having a blast while playing together, lots of jokes and laughing.

Another fun part of multiplayer gaming is the thing I like to call "Online family". I have been playing some games for years, and having the same people with you for 5+ years really does mean something. Especially if you chat over voice, daily, exchange your phone numbers so you can "annoy" each other even when you are not gaming. It really is a fun experience.

And the last, but not least. Getting drawn into the game. I really enjoy games that have well developed characters and story, even better, games with choices & consequences. Those really get you drawn deep, it's almost like you are in the game yourself, and you are making all those awesome things your character is. I would say for gaming itself, story has always been my favorite part.

I'm a competitive person, and I enjoy winning. So I don't play games that I don't think I'll win.

I spend a lot of time alone at home. And this makes me want to socialize on gaming sites. So that way I end up playing lot of online games. So the games and the shared stuff keeps me busy and occupied. I can tell you that some of the games are good enough to socialize and it's fun too that's how I got into gaming.

I think I always enjoyed gaming because it was the best form of escapism that didn't end up ultimately causing your body harm. Heck it can even benefit you in some ways.

Now by no means was it me trying to escape life because my situation was particularly horrible or anything, but I've just always been one of those introverts who at the end of a long day just wants to sit down with a good story and forget about the events of the day. Immersing myself in other worlds was always the best form of relaxation for me.
