Oh damn, gimme affiliate commission! haha, Just kidding. You'll enjoy it I'm sure. Tropico 5 is a good game. But what made me stay away from it is the "Era" advancement thing. You can advance your island from colonial times through independence, cold war and the present times. It's a great idea but what I don't like is that the edicts that you made in a previous era make everyone angry on the next one. While it adds realism to the game it's annoying to try and satisfy everyone. Also, i like Tropico 4 DLCs a lot.
So kinda more like Civilization games with changing of the times, instead of just focusing on a city building game? I'll check the prices first and see what to get. I'd rather check what the 5th one has to offer since I have a bias of playing a new franchise; I always play the newer one unless it's part of a main story that overarchs through all the games in the franchise, like Tekken for example.

I think a more accurate example would be any Age of Empires game. Everything changes when you evolve to the next era. On civilization games, there isn't much of a change besides the technologies you can research. But aye begin with the 5th it's a good game regardless.

I've been playing an awful lot of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe lately. I keep falling into the "one more game" trap and staying up too late. It's got this way of drawing you in. Yoshi is my preferred driver and I find myself gravitating to the Crown Cup racetracks more than any other. They have such a dramatic flair and most of them are evocative of past Mario games.

Hey good for you. Last racing game I played, well the fun one anyway, was Crash Team Racing back in the PS1. I even got it on the emulator just so I can still play it. I'd love to play Mario stuff but it's console exclusive and I really don't have the space or funding to get all the stuff, like a TV, the console, and the game itself.

Oh no, the titles are not related any means. The only thing in common is the game elements and the dictatorship theme. It basically puts you in control of a small island yes. You have the best version by the way. If I were you I'd definitely explore it a little more, get some DLCs maybe. Tropico 5 isn't bad but I liked the 4th installment a lot more.
Oh. That is kind of weird, or not. Most games have the the sequels and it's all related to the previous ones. That is actually good though because you don't have to really get the first version inorder for you to understand the others, or storyline.
Really? I got this for free I forgot where though.

I just played TERA once the 4 day download finished from Steam (shoulda used the torrent; since launching from steam doesn't work). I'm only an hour in, and will be playing the support classes of Priest and Mystic. Only irk is the flaunting of cleavage...so I picked the earth looking class.

On second thought, now I wonder how many wood jokes will come my way while playing!

The last game I finished (almost finished... too boring) was American McGee's Grimm.
I LOVE American McGee's Alice, one of my favorite games of all time, with a great atmosphere. I had great expectactions on this (now old) game, but it revealed itself as a simplistic and boring nothingness.
You play as Grimm, a... dwarf-like creature, who doesn't like fairy tales for their lighthearted tone. So he want to turn them dark and disgusting: you walk in levels that looks all the same with the same music over and over again, and the things you pass nearby become darker. It's nice to see everything transforming, but that's just it... nothing else to do, nothing interesting... pretty lame and boring game.

Horror game? That Is none of my business!
I hate them so I won't mind you since you want to scare me this evening.

Yeah, I think you can categorize Call of Duty as a military adventure game. Oh, and YES you must check it out! :sunglasses:
I will do just that.
But I hope it's not blood shedding and horror-like?
Imagine games like these occur to you in real life, what will you do? Act a hero or run away?

I'm more interested in the building part. Although I don't know about Tropico, but Cities: Skylines have disasters that randomly happen in the city. I once had a 31,000 population city, and out of the lower half of my map (outside my control area) was a beach, and I didn't get any warning about a tsunami. The wave destroyed half the city and killed a lot of people. When the waves receded, I only had 15,000 people left. Half the city ruined, lots of dead people, damaged property all decreased my city's funds; yeah, I had to rage quit on that one.
The game you're are talking about seems very interesting. I will one of these days check how it is.
So that I also form dictator things.lol

GTA V. I literally just hit exit LOL

But, the last 'new' game I played is Alpha Protocol which is a bit of an older game, but the one I haven't played so far. It's a secret agent RPG which is a really cool concept and I'm honestly surprised there haven't been more games like it.

Tropico is the dictator simulator. Cities: Skylines is basically an architect/engineer simulator where you design a whole city. Tricky part is getting the streets working, since you need to layout exactly where the cars can and can't go. A large problem of the mid-game is making sure your citizens don't get stuck in traffic because your road layout is crappy. The more people that live in the city, the worse the traffic potential can be, and it leads to a lot of frustrating moments.

Me too! I purchased it not long ago and I am still trying my best not to fail so much... wish my computer was a bit stronger though. I hardly get 30-35 fps on all low settings :( damn demanding games. But I still seriously love it! I gotta time my parachute jumps better... I always get there last and end up getting shot by some random guy that already looted a gun. Currently going to queue up for another game!

Wow, the game is a mind cracker I guess. Lol.
Planning a city with lot of people isn't an easy task. Architects and engineers are genius!
