Do you think these are the best gaming laptops out there?

I think there are dang near close the best laptops for gaming out there, but there are better ones that are more costly and ones that are just as good for a lower price as well.

Over priced. I checked them out and my friend could build me the one I want for like $900. It costs $4,700 when you build a custom Alienware laptop off thier site. lol

Yes they are quite overpriced, but people with that money will get them for the looks.

My Alienware laptop experience was absolutely horrible. In my opinion, if you want to game with a laptop, go for ASUS ROG notebooks because they usually have better quality components and parts. Alienware laptops are way to overprices and it's really not worth it. But that's just my opinion.

Why was it horrible? The price?

If I were to buy a gaming laptop I would go with something from Razor.

I, have never owned a alienware product, Nor would I. They are over priced, Way overpriced. They look the part, but they are not well, good enough for todays PC's. Honestly, Get yourself a desktop PC. They are not the best out there for specs, but for looks they are.

They are good enough for today in the laptop section, EASILY. People get laptops because they want a laptop to game on-the-go. They are one of the best out there for specs, but they are overpriced.

They are basically the Apple of the PC Gaming Market (if that makes any sense). The product is sound, and gets the job done, but is way overpriced, and you're pretty much scammed considering the actual cost of the parts that are under the hood.

This is very true. It makes complete sense to anyone who thinks Apple is overpriced by hundreds, which it is.

I think Alienware or anything from Dell is ridiculously overpriced. And the way they are charging even for the support and upgrade, it is not only waste of the money. But also you are spending money on something that can be purchased on low cost. You can make lot better rig at the less cost you can say 44% less cost than what they have made.

Alienware products are overpriced and if you want a gaming laptop, you can buy a similar rig for a fraction of the cost. Alienware is basically making you pay for having their logo on your item, much like Apple for people who love their products. A similar phone can do the same tasks and cost 1/4 the price, but people would rather spend thousands just for that sweet apple logo. Same goes for Alienware which is a shame since it costs a lot of money; but hey, it separates the real players from those who have money and no experience with rigs.

Why are you answering your own question with different responses lol. It makes you look like that guy from the movie Split, with multiple personalities inside one guy.

But that glowing keyboard is totally worth the money! /s
Yeah, I agree, they are ridiculously overpriced for what they offer. I mean, they do have decent specs, but their quality is nowhere near what you'd expect from a rig that expensive. The build quality is not even that excellent, I've read that they're insanely heavy (which is expected, but what's the point then?). However, the worst thing about Alienware laptops is their cooling system: they often have problems when dealing with thermal issues, and that's concerning (how long can a laptop last under those conditions? You can't even replace its single components).

I don't have a problem with Alienware, but for one they are overpriced for the specs they offer and their machines don't look very nice to me. All cluttered and plastered with LEDs.

No... Too much expectation, overated, expensive, less delivery.

I was shopping for a mouse a few months ago and was surprised by the variety and the price of some. Razer I think was the name of the "gaming mouse" that cost at least $100. No way I'm buying that unless it is indestructible and can shoot laser beams off its laser area when I click the buttons. There's no freakin' way to justify that price; it's just a piece of plastic and some chips inside.

Mouses (mice?) are kind of a different deal, precision, ergonomics and response time can all make the price float quite a bit: however, that doesn't justify Razer's overpricing. I bet that half the price is due to their brand and nothing else. Anything past the ~50$ threshold is just pumped up by marketing, even for vertical mouses.

They have good specs but I do think they're overpriced. There are a few laptops they have that are too expensive for me as I've seen laptops a couple of hundred bucks cheaper than theirs. The name sounds cool though, it's a definite eye catcher, but I guess for a gaming laptop, this is just one of those things that are bought for aesthetics. I'd choose any other gaming laptop any day.

Unless it's made of gold I don't think they can justify those jacked up prices. It's 90% price for the brand, 10% price for the items used. So only people who care about brands - or parents who know nothing about computers - would buy that thing full price. I wouldn't do it even if you gave it for free, to be honest. It's all overrated stuff.

I have never had the opportunity to use an alienware laptop but I have heard that they are very good and very powerful. One of my friends also says it's one of the best laptops for gaming and I can see why because the specs on them are insane. So i'm hoping one day to be able to get my hands on one.
