To me, Minecraft gets stale after a while.

What do you hardcore Minecrafters do to keep it interesting?

I don't really play Minecraft a lot but usually they try out mods instead of just plain, vanilla Minecraft. Another thing is just trying out servers like Hungergame servers.

Who ran the last PTM MC server?

It was "Ran" by DistanceDesigns if i remember correctly, i helped with some of the work here and there aswell as a few people he knew and 1 or 2 others on here. Though it never actually got far because he changed his mind far too often.

Thanks. If I had experience with it, or played MC more than I do, I would host one. Not sure it would be worth it right now though.

MC servers still popular?

The top servers still bring hundreds often thousands of players in at a time.

Sounds good, fits in with the idea of having rewards. We can have rewards for play time on the server etc.

And yes, Other games of course! :)

I got bored of Minecraft on my PS3 after 6 months because I built so much, and already killed the enderdragon and beat the game.

I've been playing Minecraft since early Alpha. I have certainly experienced stale moments with the game. I've found it's best to take a break from it every so often. Recently I've been trying out some modifications to enhance my experience. There are some great ones out there!

The only reason why I still play it, is when i`m very bored I just turn it on and have an hour or so being myself!

I think honestly there isn't much you can do. However if you are playing with friends and are joining their server then things could change. You can also join some random servers. Some of the story mods are also good. That can be something worth taking a look at. I don't know if that is possible for everyone to choose though.

Minecraft can get old after a while. I stop playing it and maybe come back after a while. Mods and big building projects keep you entertained for a while. But it has its limits, maybe with future updates they'll add more things. However, it's not the kind of game I could play on and on.

I am typing this in 2017 and honestly I can say that Minecraft is dying very fast. You hardly ever see just minecraft channels on youtube anymore and if there is they aren't getting the views they used to because the game is just dying out.

After defeating the Ender Dragon boss once with my younger brother, the game felt stale to me. There are a lot of possibilities in the game but playing single player in vanilla will become boring eventually. Because of that we tried playing on an online server and we were surprised to see how interesting it was to play with other players. We went on to build our house and even set up a store, selling potions. We did raids and looted empty houses. It was fun but got boring after a long time.
What we did was try mods for the game. We added Mo'Creatures which features a lot of new mobs, Smartmoving mod which enabled the player to freerun, and other mods which seemed fun and convenient. Because of the first mod, the game felt lively, which I think was lacking in the game. The lack of creatures in the wild makes it stale to play after once in a while. I hope they add more mobs and animals to the game!

Keeping the game interesting for me has always meant upping my building game. I'm always trying to out-do yesterday's best. I build a lot of medieval Norse fantasy cottages. I've gone from little boxes to sprawling northern farmsteads with ornate, sagging roofs and stables that actually look lived in.

I think one of the key points to make about this is to consider a philosophical change in how you approach the game. Most people seem to aim for automation and highly localized bases where you can practically run the entire operation from a single room. These are impressive builds, no doubt about it. But, they also are usually game breaking. I've seen tons of people who finish them, thinking they now have everything they need to make an awesome build...and then go "oh no, what do I do now?" because they've already gotten everything the game has to offer at their finger tips. There's no more strife, no more work involved. No effort required means no reward provided!

I too used to make bases like this and experience this phenomenon. What I do now is instead of making one house that serves as my base, I build villages. One area has the farm with the livestock and produce. Another house I may build simply because I wish to grow pumpkins and it would look quaint if I had a small pumpkin garden abutting the structure. I build wizard towers specifically to house my enchantment room. There's always a central food bank where I keep excess for a rainy day. I try to see how much I can store up, gamifying the act of saving away produce. Each in-game function has its own build associated with it, instead of glomming it all in one building, and I put a focus on making those builds look natural. This all comes at the expense of expedience, of course. But it puts the heart back in the game as I have to wander around my village to tend to the various tasks necessary to have a good minecraft life for my Steve.

I keep playing Minecraft almost every day, I change the theme and make my own creation. Building an empire, with a farm with animals, crops, vegetables, houses, soldiers, and horses. If I create more this makes me wish to spend more time on this game, this makes it more interesting!

Not a hardcore Minecrafter, but I've heard that Microsoft if trying to freshen things up by making the Minecraft Marketplace a major feature. I guess people are more likely to stick around if they know they can earn an income from display and selling their creations.
