So recently I got the thought in my head of going back and pursuing my career of creating games. Previously I tried working by myself on a horror game which was nearly finished, but flopped because I was unemployed at the time so I couldn't afford any assets and didnt know how to model so it was scrapped.

I then set out to gather help from other people and created and Indie Team known as Lunar Punch Studios. We worked on creating a sci-fi bounty hunter game which then spun off into trying to recreate FTL: Faster Than Light in UE4 (Unreal Engine 4). The project slowly died out as well because of members heading off to university or picking up more hours at work.

Recently I got in contact with the same team and they have improved over the last 6 months since I was last in contact with them. Our 2d designer now works for UbiSoft as a concept artist and our modeler has improved on his work.

Anyways, even though I know most of the people in the network here are just gamers mostly and probably dont have much experience in game development asides from gMod, I felt like reaching out to the community to see if anyone would like to lend some of their free time in helping with the latest project I had in mind.

Unit 17
Inspired by Star War Republic Commandos

(Disclaimer) Now as many of you know how Disney handles anything Star Wars related, the game will not be taking place inside of the Star Wars Universe so it is not to be shut down while in development. Inspiration will be draw from the material, but will not be directly copied.

Currently we are looking for anyone who is good at making 3D models (either characters or props/weapons)
And possibly 2D designers for creating the HUD and Menu art.

The current story so far is that your character is a mercenary that is moving up in the world has gotten the attention of a paramilitary group known as Unit 17. Unit 17 handles a wide variety of jobs ranging from sabotage and assassinations to escorting and monitoring VIPs.

The game will start of with the player in a transport vehicle that is heading towards one of the private recruitment center. There are other potential recruits riding along to the location and later on, some will become your part of your unit. This part of the game will act as the tutorial as well as familiarizing you with your squad mates. During the tutorial, how you perform (accuracy and time to complete the course) will determine weather or not you will be the leader of the group or just one of the members. Your position will be determined once you are done with the tutorial and you may go and run the course as much as you want in order to improve yourself.

Your group will be place in squad Charlie and as your progress you will eventually make your way to Omega Squad.

There will be death (lots of it), betrayal, and action.

(Combat System)
So far the basic idea for the combat system will contain core elements from shooter games, including being able to switch from third person and first person as you see fit, a cover system, takedowns, and a movement system that might include some parkour, climbing, and maybe even grapple hooks.
==============================================================================

So if any of you are interested, or know of people who would be interested and would have some of the skills required to help, feel free to leave a comment/message me/link them to this page. There is a discord server i still have that has the old members in it that I will be giving the link to those I want to be in the project.

I mean. No matter how good of developers you have, game development can take along bloody time. It doesn't matter if your Jesus or have a team of 20 people. It's a long process, I know people who know there stuff but I doubt they'd actually help. You can have all the ideas in the world but when they actually come into action a lot of things change. But overall, I wish you luck. I'll message the people I know and see if they'd be interested in helping and i'll let you know. But apart from that, good luck.

Sounds like fun to play, but doesn't sound fun to make.

JUST SAYING

Be prepared for this thing to finish (hope it does but ya know...) in a long time. Games take forever to develop and manage and sell.

3 Core Stages I would say to game development:

Stage 1: Designing Game, Looking for a market, and setting up the idea

Stage 2: Coding and Development of Game, and Branding

Stage 3: Marketing, Selling, Updating, and Bug Fixing

Also these are done usually with millions in capital and labor resources so a small team might take a while
