Anyone else think autosaves and checkpoints ruined newer GTA versions?

The best part of finishing quests in the old GTA games is that accomplished feeling when you perfectly execute the plan. With Ballad of Gay Tony, you get checkpoints and save spots that will auto-load when you die halfway through a mission. It ruins the pressure, as you can easily get back right on the horse as soon as you failed the game. What do you guys think?

You're right.
OK, it could get frustrating sometimes to have to do the whole missions again but it did make completing the mission so much more rewarding.
Helped to increase the playtime of the game too which isn't a bad thing.

I think it's back to the whole thing of people nowadays want things quicker than before: progress through a game quicker, get the better gear quicker, open areas quicker.......I remember having to work really hard to progress in a game, and they're still my favourites :)
