Moments in games where you just want to smash the controller

Definitely Dark Souls III. People aren't kidding about how stupidly hard that game is. It took me probably thirty minutes to get past the FIRST boss, with probably five minutes of gameplay before the boss, and then I never even got to the second boss before I wanted to break the computer monitor. I can't describe it perfectly, but the area I was in was swarmed with monsters, and you had to go down a staircase to get through the building place. There was an enemy down at the bottom that probably killed me twenty times before I just quit.

I usually have this moment when playing either call of duty or assassin creed games. When I keep losing at a stage over and over and I am not getting it right, it would get frustrating. I will want to smash not only the controller but even the pc. Because of this feeling I had to stop call of duty and even lots of hard games as such.

I've shied away to healing and being a support to avoid that confrontation. I loved playing C'hange, just dancing around tossing heals! STRIIIIIKE!
I tried playing support-style champions for a while, but I would end up getting caught out in stupid situations because I was terrible with positioning (which is a problem no matter what my role, but it's so much worse when you're just straight up unable to fight back).

I have experienced such on many occasions, most especially when I am close to passing an hard level that has been giving me tough time and suddenly failed. I always felt like smashing both the controller and the PC.

The first thing that comes to mind are definitely sneak missions. Those make me want to scream, also because they honestly stress me out. I don't know why, but I get so nervous during missions where I'm supposed to be sneaking around...which generally results in me shaking and messing up multiple times in a row. I'm here for a good time, not this mess.

Also racing missions...God...there are only so many times I can restart a race before I actually lose it.

Ok i agree here about the racing missions. If it's a side quest fine but why do they have to make to race to win or else you're stuck? Damn. But why the sneaking part? I for one really love a good sneaking mission. It all adds to the thrill of the game.

To be honest I don't think I have a good explanation, they're just really anxiety-inducing for me. I get as nervous as I do when I'm playing horror games...maybe it's the suspense aspect of getting caught that's too much? Either way I feel like I've usually only had the mental fortitude to try them once or twice before passing it off to someone else for help.

I see. I guess different games have different effects on people.I remember when I first started playing Dino Crisis. It was a terrifying experience for me. It seems to me your an action games fan? Or an RPG suits you best perhaps?

Hahaha, this reminds me of call of duty iv.I smached my controller when I had to bomb a tank moving above the bridge. The frustrating thing about it was the distance from last saved and killing the enemies. I didn't know how to activate the rifle and will still get killed trying.I almost gave up on the game until my cousin helped me.I lost a controller to that level out of frastraution.

When I use to play in the PC Need For Speed it was so frustrating when something in the road blocked me and I couldn't turn back, so I got caught by the police and I couldn't finish the race because of that, the keyboard didn't respond fast so it cause me troubles in certain moments, mostly when I needed the most to make fast moves. So many times I wanted to grab a hammer and smash it lol.

I think it is your brain signalling you it is time to take a break at that point. I think we have all had those moments when gaming that make us just want to toss the game into the trash bin. It can be a rough time and one that causes us to become very upset if we don't stop playing.

Hahaha The call of duty4 on PC is another thing.I almost smached my PC when I just can't set the rifle to shot the tank at the other end of the bridge.Hope it wasn't same mission you gave up on?

Replaying the whole level just because the developers thought it was a good idea to only put autosave into the game - autosave that occurs once every hour.

THE WORST THING EVER. This made me remember something similar: Did you ever play PS2 without memory card? Getting your game far from midpoint and then someone kicked the AC wire and your life went following the tiny light in the TV while aggressiveness makes your heart its kingdom... I'm remembering it and I getting mad again. It happened to me a lot of times! until we bought two memories.

Share with us a moment in a video game when you were so angry at the game that you felt like smashing the controller.

I always feel like this when I'm playing a game and I'm stuck on just one damn level and can't get past it. I sit there forever trying over and over again but I just can't do it. I can't continue on with the game until I complete this level. I get even more mad when I make it near the end and then my character gets killed. Oh my god I start flipping out.

This post really got me laughing out loud because I almost tried this several times but I managed to keep my cool. It's in the football game I always play, Top Eleven Football Manger. There are moments in which I must need to get at least 1 point in order to either win a trophy in a long hard fought season.

The crazy moment will come in the last day match of the season, my team will play so well only to get beaten at the death of the match extra time of 90 full minutes. Once this happens, I feel like hitting my controller and breaking it to pieces. It's the worst experience I have ever faced in playing. It turns my stomach.

Mine is with my friends playing fighting games. I always flip out everytime I lose to the same guy that I couldn't help myself but to erupt. My friends just laugh but deep inside I really want to punch one of them in the face, but I won't, cause they're friends LOL. It's all fun and games but I feel like it's always not my fault and the first thing that I'm holding is the one I really want to destroy which is the controller, but I won't, cause it's too expensive to buy one again and it will ruin the fun for everybody if there's no controller to use and play with. Just take a deep breath and think of happy thoughts once you feel like smashing because you don't want to look like a bitch tantruming in front of your friends for just a stupid game.

Haha, yes. I still remember those times. If you are an old-time gamer like me, then you will also recall the no memory cards. Back in the NES, SNES days... you literally had no memory cards so whenever you turned the game off, all of your progress was lost as well. We used to leave the console turned on for days at a time just because we were trying to finish up games like Super Mario :)

One time though, I remember that we have gotten far in the levels and all of a sudden we had a power cut. I screamed so loud.
