Your Thoughts On The Rise Of Facebook Games?

Facebook has been providing its users with different games. Farmville hit the world by storm in the past and made everybody want to become a farmer. The craze eventually died down. After a brief moment of silence, Facebook games are on the rise again.

I've noticed that people around me have been playing Everwing more and more frequently. It isn't really special. It's just your regular top down shooter game similar to those that you could find in the arcades in the 90s.

What are your thoughts on Facebook games? Do you think that they suck? Or do you think that this is the future of gaming?

I've spent my fair share of time playing random facebook games to be capable of saying that they're good to pass the time but not great if you're looking for actual content.

I'll stick to my massive open world rpg's thank you.

I think that so many people are on Facebook that it just made sense for them to put games on there and monetize them. If there weren't games on FB, they would be missing a huge market and I am sure they know that. Most of these games are powered by Zynga, and I am not sure what their actual relationship is with Facebook.

When I first started using Facebook I was very much interested in playing games especially the Farmville. As days passed I got bored and now I have totally stopped playing them. I hardly go to facebook to check about notifications. Sometimes I play UNO connecting with players around the world. It will be fun. :)

Believe me, I have never played any facebook games. My facebook friends once in a while send game request on facebook. However, I always turn down the offer, in most cases, I even don't see what games I have been requested to play. I have never taken any interest in facebook games. This is because I don't play online games. I work in a slow connection, therefore, I don't play online games.

I say 'Good on Facebook!' They found a way to make a lot of money in a way that entertains their users and keeps them active on their media platform. Way to go!

Yes, they were smart to do that, however, when you get repeated requests to play certain facebook games it can get annoying. Thank God I am no longer getting Candy Crush Soda Pop or whatever it is from my friends. I have no interest in playing that game. Sometimes these requests go out automatically, and annoy people on your friend's list to death.

I remember when I first got Facebook and I was addicted to those Facebook games. I can't remember what it was called but I think it was something called Car Town. Basically, you owned a garage and collected cars. You could then race them against your friends to earn coins or other cars. It was a pretty good game to be fair but ultimately it got annoying because of those Facebook credit things they brought out. Do they even have Facebook games anymore? I don't get any requests from friends anymore, thankfully, except for a few for Miniclip's 8 Ball Pool, but then that doesn't really count as a Facebook game.

It is possible to turn off those notifications and not receive those requests I believe.

I know it is, I just ignore them. It doesn't really bother me that much. It is just one of the things that can be a bit annoying about facebook gaming and playing them. I just think it is a type of problem that many people experience.

Well, I've known about Facebook games for quite some time. Looking back on it, I think my peak period of using Facebook games was around 2010. Those that remember Nightclub City know my favorite era of Facebook gaming. When it comes to my opinion, I think they have their own lane for online gaming. What I've noticed is a lot of FB games come and go over time. So its usually not best to grow attached to them. But they can provide hours of fun.

You are right they do tend to rise and fall come and go depending on how many are playing the interest, and the revenue they provide. It just varies with the terrain. Many people do tend to get rather upset when their game goes away for no apparent reason. It is just one of the things that happens.

I think Facebook games are great for casual gamers and are a plus for the gaming industry. Because most gamers start out on simple games and advance in complexity as time goes on. Some of those casual Facebook gamers are future COD and Battlefield and WOW players. :D

I agree they are perfect for casual gamers. Those who want to get more involved can as well so I think they do serve a purpose for others. Many people like and play these games on a regular basis and make them part of their gaming ritual. I know many people who play on a regular basis.

Personally, I don't like Facebook so I like FB games even less. I use it strictly for necessary purposes. Still, For people that work with it, it should be nice to relax with a few games in the middle of your shift.

It makes total sense for them to have games on FB, since sooooo many people use it. I've played some mobile games that require linking your FB account, but I've never played any strictly 'Facebook games'. I really, really hate it when my FB friends don't know how to turn notifications off & my feed is full of their stupid game updates. It's not hard to block them once I see them, it's just annoying because I don't think they even realize how many times they're posting.

The age of Facebook gaming peaked back then when there was Pet Society and Farmville but I do not see why it cannot happen again as Facebook messenger games are becoming popular nowadays. I hope that they focus more into multiplayer features for games as it can be addictive to play if you have someone else to play it with, and example would be the jumble word game which is a 1 versus 1 game on Facebook messenger!

That's one of the reasons I stop playing Facebook games. Personally, I'm one of those Gamers that grows attached to the particular game I frequent. Because of that, I prefer playing games that have enough active users and generated revenue to stay around. In my opinion, I really don't see a point to FB gaming. It sort of just waste time throughout the day; time I can't spare. I will say though that their games can be very fun and highly addictive!

I find most things associated with facebook to be obnoxious since all of the related apps are designed to be advertisements and ad servers. I don't particularly understand why someone would play those titles instead of just downloading something on their phone since the design philosophies behind facebook games tends to be the same as those behind mobile games. That said, it's not like there's anything wrong with them. But if I get spammed by notifications for that stuff you're definitely getting put on ignore.

I wasn't really excited to see the new Facebook games specially those that can be played via messenger app. There are still glitches and exploit like the game called EverWing. I have a friend who plays the game and he has this cheat thing, somewhat like a script that increases almost everything of your EverWing profile. There used to be good 3d games on Facebook back then but I'm not sure now if they are still there.
