Favorite horror game?

Have you got around to play any Dino Crisis game? It's basically a Resident Evil with dinosaurs. Worth a shot even if you're new to the horror scene.

My favorite horror game would be Silent Hill: Origins. I like the Silent Hill franchise as a whole too because they are focusing on psychological horror and not relying entirely on just jumpscares.
I love the symbolic foggy atmosphere in Silent Hill with its broken roads and abandoned houses.

I'd say outlast. Haven't played any other horror games that are scary that Outlast. I have also seen a lot of people lose their thing when they play that scary game. Specially if you play it in VR!

Going to have to go with Silent Hill. The original is still the best! From the very beginning it is tense as you walk through that mist with eerie sounds happening all around you. Otherwise, it's silence. The atmosphere in that game has never quite been recaptured by any of its sequels as far as I'm concerned.

I've played a lot of horror games and I loved most of them. Here are the honorable mentions:

Fatal Frame 3: The Tormented - this brought the horror style of Japanese horror movies to video games. I was trembling all throughout.
Silent Hill 1 - in a genre that was dominated by Resident Evil, Silent Hill was a breath of fresh air. It offered a full 3D environment and a far better story than its adversary.
Resident Evil 3 - though RE2 was awesome, I enjoyed this a lot more
Parasite Eve 2 - a horror game that featured a hot babe coupled with RPG elements was a lot of fun.
Outlast - my favorite first person horror game.

But the winner is:

Resident Evil 4! I enjoyed playing this game over and over. Combat was awesome, graphics were great. I just really really love it.
