Do you have to complete a game 100%?

Do you like to get 100% at every game? Personally, I do not start by trying to obtain everything, but if, after I have completed the game, I am bored and want something to do, then yes, I will go back and try to complete the game 100%. In some games it is different though. For example, I play every Pokemon game until I have got all of them Pokemon (except special event ones of course).

I pretty much don't. It's hard to though. It's just that every game gets boring after a while, and completing a game with all trophies/achievements takes alot of time.Even though I want to I can't stand watching the same cutscenes and levels over and over again.

I use to, but these days my time is limited so I just play what interests me and move on.

I never did this until I found out like last November that a lot of games have secrets. I would probably do this for Super Mario Galaxy 2 because it is fun, but not for SSBB which would take for ever or Mario Kart because I don't really care enough to get all the karts.

It depends on the game. I typically try to get 100% through campaigns and such on many of my favorites, but on some MMOs I do not because they take so long to get through, such as SWTOR.

Well to be honest it has been a habit for me to complete each game that i play since i was a kid, and even now i have to complete every game before playing another game because the storyline is just very important for me.

The only game I've ever felt compelled to do this with is The World Ends With You on the DS. I just can't get enough of it. It's PACKED with content, and I still haven't reached my goal, but it's a fun task in and of itself.

Its not like I must complete all the achievements, but mostly my first challenge to myself is to complete 100% of the game. Most of the times I do succeed in completing the game hundred percent especially the games which I play in summer vacations because I do have a lot of spare time for gaming in summers. Besides, I do try to complete them as much as I can but hundred percent is not a must. Although I would agree that I haven't completed any of the GTA game to 100%. Ironically, the games which give me a hard time completing are the ones I always play till 100%. (you can call it my stubbornness).

I've completed a couple games 100% before but I can't name them off the top of my head. I generally try to 100% a game after beating it, but I never really get around to completing it.

Have to? Not at all.

Want to? Most of the time, yes

Honestly, before the times of trophies and achievements, all I used to do was beat the games and that was it. But now with the inclusion of the virtual rewards, it sort of pushes you to go a little further.

If I really like the game, I try to complete everything to 100% by first play through. One example of this is Suikoden II for me, although I actually got everything at 100% without using a guide because I was way too obsessed with it. For other games, I'd be fine with just finishing one play through to learn of the story.

Well yeah i agree with you because the Playstation 3 virtual trophies just push us to complete all the game perfectly, and to be honest i used to do that even without trophies.

I enjoy completing games and it makes me feel like I did all that I could but if I get bored before finishing it's not a big deal. I don't have to finish them or get all the trophies but it sure feel good when I do that.

No, I have a backlog too huge to be forced to finish everything to 100%.
But there are exceptions, for game that I really really like: The Binding of Isaac, with all of his expansions, is the only game I completed at 100%.
For other games I might complete the story and most of the sidequests, but I don't force myself to do EVERYTHING.

Yeah, Pokemon. But when your favorite game has a new version all the years is hard to complete every one. Just once i could complete everything, soul silver.

I am a die hard gamer. If i find a game intresting,I do everything possible to finish it.
When I started GTA it was really tough,I has to use cheat to play some missions and even paid a friend to tell me tricks.I just wanted to see how it ended, which I achieved.
I can't play a game without completing it.

I have to finish everything 100% or at least try. When I start a new game, it doesn't matter what kind of game it is, I got this need to collect everything and explore everything that can be explored. Thats especially the case with games like Assassins Creed, where I run around and collect everything, and then focus on the main missions.

Yeah, yeah... So many times! :sunglasses:

I could post a relatively long list of games that I managed to complete (some of them - like Resident Evil :zombiecool:- a lot of times ).
