For me, that particular game was Final Fantasy X. I had to level up my characters, find their ultimate weapons, upgrade their Sphere Grid, and prepare myself for the final battle. Everything was for naught, however, because my computer detected a virus one day and I had to format it immediately. I can still remember how frustrated I had been. I lost so much sleep over that game! I would gladly play it again, though! It’s still one of my favourites.

I can't quite remember the last time I stayed up late playing games, but I do recall of one time when I was playing Onimusha 3. I stayed up for long hours trying to complete it.

Mine in Grand Theft because of the missions I do stay up till 2am in the morning. It a terrible feeling when you work up around 6am reading for work.
Really you are the man, when I played GTA IV I was in college I played it for 2 weeks straight I just sit and play the game it was so awesome I had to end the game in differently switching between choices just to see what the odds are, I missed classes just to complete the game.

I do this entirely to many nights with World of Warcraft. That's a game that is so dense with content I legitimately believe no one has seen it all. What's cool about it is that the things you do in the game all feed back into a few major goals so you're constantly working towards a common end. No sooner have you finished one micro goal than you start another, and then another. You keep saying "Okay, as soon as I collect all the baubles" or "As soon as I finish this quest line", or "As soon as I kill this one last boss, then I'll go to bed."

But bed never comes. :weary:

lmao I know the feeling. When there's nobody to share the bandwidth with, that's the only time you can consistently have internet speed which is a major factor in online gaming. I remember in college we had this wifi that the entire building could use, so I had to stream basketball games as well as play Dota 1 online during 1 in the morning. I knew it wasn't very healthy but it was the only time I had all the internet speed to myself.
YES. Midnight sessions are the best sessions. Also given with the fact that you'll be the only person using the internet. The ping will be so stable you wouldn't have problems with gameplay at all. I really hate my sister when she streams YouTube, like "why the hell are you doing this to me?" Don't make me experience ping spikes as that is what makes me lose my mind!

Perks of being a night owl. I remember streaming NBA playoff games at my room with no problem because the other tenants of the area are asleep. Sure, there may be one or two gamers like me, but all in all the speed is 10x that during the day, and you can really feel like you're getting your money's worth since you get the full speed instead of sharing it with other people.

The problem is when you play a game that you love, you can't stop playing no matter what is happening.
Before, sometimes i stay hungry just to keep playing and not waste time for anything else except playing. All the attention i have is focusing in the game and nothing else. But now thanks God, I gave limits for playing.

I agree on that. I failed some of my studies due to gaming, and if I could only turn back time, I definitely would. Looking back at it now, there are games that I don't even know why I spent a lot of time on, some of them weren't even that good, I just simply didn't want to deal with academics back then. Thank God I also got over my addiction, I've never felt better since I succumbed into my limits.

The important thing is that we passed that period with minimal losses. Important things in life first, then gaming in free time. And it's summer now so enjoy gaming :tonguewink:

I have had such an experience before several times. One of which was my friend and I. It was FIFA we were playing throughout that night. I said I was better than him but he wouldn't accept. So we had to play several times before he accepted I was better than. We spent the whole night playing and replaying.
Oh I totally I understand this, I used to have similar situation when I was in college. I shared room with 4 other mates. And we would spend nights playing pes on laptop. In those days we rarely sleep at night, and we are not reading overnight rather we are slugging it out on pes. It then became a culture for us the only time we stopped is during examination. I can still remember the sweet memory.

I've lost many nights of sleep over Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. The "one more challenge" mindset got to me and the next thing you know, it's 4am and I have to be up at 8 for work. Crap. I get super addicted to those types of games and it's so easy to lose track of time. It's fun though. I look at it this way: there are things that I could be doing that are much worse than staying up playing video games.
The curse of Bethesda games has been cast upon you I see lmao. I'm not surprised that you spent a lot of time in New Vegas as the game really is immersive and the story is just thrilling. Hands down still the best story in any Fallout game for me. As for exploration, I find myself leaning more onto Fallout 4 because I'm not really into New Vegas' sunburst vibe.

That would have to be Civilization, Civ 5 to be specific. It's definitely addicting. That one more turn mindset ain't no joke. I remember telling myself at around 3 that I'd stop at 3:30. Next thing I know it's 4! Fantastically addicting game in my opinion.

I have to say it's Defense of the Ancients 2 for me. My friends and I always play up until 3 AM as we are grinding to raise our matchmaking rating up. Often times when we are on losing streaks we just stop at 1 AM and call it a day especially to take off the frustration.
I remember back then when I still had a PSP I would play Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops or Metal Gear Acid until like 4 AM since I find the game highly addictive back then. I wish to play it again soon since I like the turn-based and card system on MGA.

Skyrim. when it was first release i was already inlove with the game. i manage to finish it without mods, i actually knew mods AFTER i finish the game. The ambiance, the music, the story, Dragons, Lore, Game mechanics. everything was perfect from my taste, then mods came. it made me play and finish the game 2 time again. mods completed the game for me. so far Skyrim is the best game for me. nothing beats the game, i'm looking forward for bethesda to release another awesome game like this.

The last game I lost sleep over was Minecraft, the world had some bad chunks and it would crash anytime anyone went near it. I spent over 2 days trying to fix it. And finally I gave up and rolled the Realm to a backup save. Which was 10 days old and the bad part is some of the people on the Realm lost half of their house.

It was really fun then. Those are the moments I can hardly forget. When the game gets interesting, you wouldn't even know how the time passed, hours will be like minutes and minutes will be like seconds to you.
Before you realize, it's already morning.
