With all the problems that a game can carry, no matter how difficult it is,i am not going to use cheats, I prefer the challenge and everything I can get with it, although sometimes I use guides and things like that. i am guilty in some charges.

Cheating is a form of crime. I don't use cheats to every game I played. Cheating makes the game boring and dull. It won't bring the excitement and thrill for every stage or development you made. I don't suggest cheats to games because of your not a gamer if you use cheats. Cheats are for those people who are coward to finish the game. Yes, it will make you play faster and advance but you can't feel the real attachment and emotion every time you play it fair.

I don't have any video games cheat on mind.
I don't have time for it. It ruins the game and makes it seem so simple.
What's the essence of playing if you have to cheat yourself.lol. That's self deception.

Yup, you never really earned it if you had to do that sort of thing. Cheating to get past a hard level, cheating to make the ending easier, it's pretty common to do that if you are a casual gamer who is only in it for the story. But for people who brag that they can beat games and then being busted for cheating or using hacks? Well that's just an embarrassing thing all around.

Exactly bro.
It's so embarrassing to cheat in a game!
Haha, that funny/awkward moment when a gamer cheats even though he's playing as single player .

Like pretty much everyone else, I think cheating is pretty lame and makes the game less enjoyable to an extent. Tips and tricks and strategy guides in a game like, say, Dark Souls is understandable, but outside of that no. Although, I think cheat codes in games like GTA are okay, because, well, it's GTA. Adds more fun, although cheat codes are rare in games nowadays.

That being said, I think things like tool assisted speed runs are really cool. I think it's dope to see a computer and a person (with a lot of time on their hands, lol) burning through stages and doing crazy things I wouldn't even think of.

I don't use cheats nowadays, only mods. :p But I used to play games before specially GTA and Counter Strike.
Those kinds of cheats make the game more fun.

I only use cheats for the sake of having fun. Cheats to progress the game are not really fun IMO as you are only fooling yourself when you know that there is a legitimate way to finish the game.

Weird cheats though are really fun. One good example is a punch bombs cheat you can get in GTA V, that was so cool!

I used to use cheats in games like GTA when I beat the game and such. But not anymore because they ruins games.
Similarly in Saints Row the Third, there is a buyable cheat/perk by the devs, which has so many negative reviews. Like you said, the becomes a chore than a challenge.

I liked using cheats in GTA San Andreas. Some of them had really ridiculous result and I did it for the fun. I sometimes used the one where you recover when you're about to die, but that's because I used to walk around the in-game world a lot just doing random things instead of following the storyline so I sometimes had unnecessary issues lol
When it comes to other games, they kind of ruin the whole point of the game so I don't tend to use them.
One game that hardly counts here, but in which I loved cheats, was the Sims haha
I never played that without cheats, but that was a long time ago.

Using cheats in SIMS is overkill in my opinion. You can't really enjoy the game when you literally have a million dollars to your name instantly. You didn't earn any of it! The best part of playing the SIMS is you going up in the world; starting up as a poor single bachelor and trying to go on a job that you want in life. You slowly upgrade your house until it's the perfect one you have in your vision. And then you move to the next one. I tried using cheats before since I got bored running out of money at creation, but it didn't really mean anything because I didn't earn any of it.

Yeah, what you say makes sense, but I just rarely played for the, um, real feel of it? I liked the 'virtual reality' where they could just have this huge home, go on awesome vacations, eat well, etc. I don't know. Maybe I was too young lol
But I started playing with cheats, so giving them up later would probably be a completely different experience for me, like a different game, because I haven't tried that in the beginning. I actually first heard of the Sims through cheats in a magazine, and THEN I bought the game. So I already had a plan to cheat. It was never really about balancing their needs and wishes, and so on, I just liked randomly exploring everything the game and its cheats offered. Maybe I'd do it differently now? But that was years ago. (time flies so fast:unamused:)

I don't like using cheats because it feels like...cheating. I prefer to go through a game on my own and treat it as a challenge. If it's difficult I might take a short break to not get annoyed but I wouldn't cheat.

When playing a game, do you use cheats to help you complete it faster or just for the random fun it may add to a game? Or you a purist and do you not use cheats at all?

I will use cheats i if I get bored, but then again, like in the GTA series, i use them just for a laugh as they make things more enjoyable for myself. I play for fun and not to complete a game or achievements so I just use them when I feel like it really.
I try not to use cheats but it's hard in this day and time because of the internet. Back in the day we didn't have the luxury of google and youtube. You had to buy the strategy guide with little to no additional help from gamers.

I don't use cheats to help me complete the missions, I use the cheats to help me in the free time of the game, like GTA for example if I don't want the cops to chase me, I just use the cheat.

No, I don’t use cheats at all. I don’t think it’s fair. Also when I play I generally become a bit obsessed to pass the game for myself without help, It gives me this feeling of achievement that I couldn’t get I used cheats so you could say I’m a purist as someone mention before. I’d like to think I’m able to do it for myself if not why to do play it at all…

I use strategy guides and or cheats if I am really stuck in game. It is no use to me to go around an hour in the same place if I can just use a strat guide and figure it out.
True. Sometimes cheats get handy to get out of the situation we are trying for hours to come out the solution. Here cheat can help us to location the problem and answer. It saves a lot of time making game more enjoyable if we are not able to decode the situation.

The only game where I cheat is Sims 4. Nothing else. That'd ruin the other games while in Sims I kinda need my motherload haha.

Cheats are ok. We should not use them for all games. They seize the charm of the games. So better be ward off this tool to apply. The more difficulty a game present the more fun we get out of that. It gives real satisfaction to achieve something without any help.
