It really depends on the game. I can only play FPS games with a keyboard and a mouse (I just can't be precise enough with a joystick), whereas racing games are unplayable to me without a proper controller.
If the button layout is good enough, I usually can play any other game with a keyboard, but some have proven me wrong, like Dark Souls (kudos to anyone who managed to complete it with a keyboard). I guess I've just grown used to it in the years.

For those types, I think a controller adapted to the PC is better. There are some games that are just for PC, with the keyboard and mouse. Adventure games that use first person views, FPS games, strategy games, etc; all belong on the PC. Driving games, fighting games, and sports games all belong still in the PC, but with the use of a controller ported instead of the usual keyboard and mouse.

If u really know how to use the keyboard it a good feeling. For me I normally use the keyboard and it cool for me. I play games like GTA, Need for speed.

I hate games played with keyboard keys, that is why I use a controller because is much easier to use and I am playing better than using my keyboard! I don't know how some can use a keyboard to play a game and win in the end!

It didn't feel right for me driving in GTA 5 with a keyboard. WASD keys for a car? That really didn't fit right. For driving I really believe that a controller would be better - infinitely better - than a keyboard an a mouse. That's why I use the controller while driving in GTA, then proceeded to walk and aim the guns with the keyboard and mouse. Perfect combination.

Been gaming with a keyboard on PC games since I was about 5 years old so I'm used to it, even racing games. Sure a controller helps a lot especially with driving and fighting games, but I can play without it as well.

It really depends on the type of game I'm playing. If I'm playing a bunch of flash games I'll tend to use keyboard controls. However, if I'm playing GTA5 I'll plug in my PS3 controller.

Obviously, technology is playing a vital role in the various ways keyboards are being used to play games. Playing games through the keyboard has gone a long way in the advent of the modern technology that we enjoy nowadays and that one has made it possible to have effective communications with international colleagues through the internet medium even if they are geographically far away from each other.

I used to play pc games only with controllers... but mine just got damaged recently and I triend playing with the keyboard. It is quite hard. I think it would take a significant period of time practicing to get to master the game.

I don't mind that. Most games I played, I had to play via keyboard so I'm used to it. I don't find it hard and the first few times I used a controller, I found it complicated to figure out because I was so used to a keyboard. Now it's both okay for me, but I'm just more used to a regular PC keyboard, and I find it more comfortable.

I love using controllers but keyobard and mouse works better for FPS games, I have played CS: GO, the Half-Life series, Dishonored, Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite.

What are your feelings about games played with keyboard keys, like QWOP? Most of the time, you'll find them in online arcades and such. Do you think they can be a little hard to master sometimes? Personally, I'd much rather prefer a controller.

I don´t thing I have feeling about this! xD
I have played pc games since like forever, and sometimes I play with controllers when I´m in one of my friends house, but I have to say that sometimes controllers aren´t that well suited for me, maybe is because I don´t usually play consoles. In my opinion, when you are learning to play a new game everything is a little hard to master, but after a few hours, you just get into it. Nothing difficult in my opinion, when it comes to mastering keyboards or controllers.

Well, I have played some of those games, some are really difficult to play because the controls aren't well programmed, I prefer a controller because it is more simple and you don't have to kill your keyboard because it is annoying to your fingers.

GTA V, I tried it on the PC because I wanted to use the mods, well I liked it but the game that I didn't like in PC was MW2 I played it but that was my worst COD experience ever..I think it'll no be good if you're playing it on your PC.

I've been used to playing flash games on my computer since I was like 11 years old and I have been used to the controls of the keyboard and with the mouse too. If you play for some time using the keyboard, you'll eventually get used to the muscle memory and coordination required to play games. I am used to playing with keyboard and controllers so it really makes me wonder what it feels like to have no experience in playing using the keyboard and mouse. I wonder if it feels like the first time learning to walk.
