The current Steam sale has many discounted games, but the Valve ones have I think 93% discount for a variety of games like Left 4 Dead, CSGO, Half Life, and Portals. It's basically pennies on the dollar, so if you are a fan of any of those games, you should definitely take the bundle because it will save you a ton from all the discounts that they have been giving out. It's like 10 games for the price of one.

I think someone else already mentioned getting Civ 5. At 5$ with all the dlc, that was probably the best deal I ever got. It's a great game!

Current steam sale has got some great deal. I bought a couple but the best deal I currently got in my opinion is Transistor. I am currently enjoying playing the game and worth every penny I bought it for.

Can you sell me on that game? I keep hearing it's all the rave with people online but when I went to check it out on the Steam page, I don't see what's so special about it. It's pretty cheap I can tell you that, and I don't mind spending a dollar on it and I wouldn't regret it. How many hours have you clocked into it, and how hard do you recommend it?

Steam sales are amazing, yeah, but nothing can beat that Borderlands Humble Bundle they had a few years ago. Base game and all DLCs for 1$.
As for retail, I've always caught the best deals on Black Friday. I remember getting a retail copy of Rayman Origins for less than 1$, I still can't wrap my head around that. Must have had a hell of a surplus in storage.

It's a great mix of story, RPG, banter, and tactical planning. Its appeal is likely due to how close society is now with "majority rules" on the internet, while not providing a sudden apocalyptic theme. It begs the question who is in control and who can speak?

Controls were great with a controller; I never learned the keyboard commands. Replaying for the achievements made the difficulty increase, but even the story changes. Take note of the last lines spoken. Soundtrack beautiful; if you bought the DLC for it, your character can hum to it in game. There is also a room in-game you can play the music in. My favorites are Impossible and Apex Beat.

If you have low-specs like me (Pentium & Intel HD 3000), you can disable the video card check and play anyway! Your hardware permitting, of course.

It makes me look forward to the devs' next game Pyre!

I don't think specs will be a problem for me (I have a 1060 6GB), my only issue is the price for the game quality ratio. But hey, it sounds great by your description, and I can't really say no to about $1.50 game. DLC is just a soundtrack though, so I'm not sure if I should pay more for just sounds you can hear in the game sometimes. I'll check it out and see what the hype is all about, thanks.

Civ 5 is an amazing game. I easily got 300 hours clocked on it on Steam. Too bad the next game was a disappointment though. Oh well, maybe they will get Civ 7 right, and do it the same as Civ 5 and 3 (seeing a pattern here?) so I guess the waiting game begins until they get their stuff together. Because right now it's just an overpriced mobile game and I won't waste my money on that abomination. I'll just stick with Civ 5 until major fixes will be put in the game.

Apart from Indie humble bundle games, I don't remember having any good deal. Most of the games on steam are still a bit expensive than that price. You can see that in such case the best deal is going for the indie game bundle. You have to understand that some of the games from this deal. That being said, you may find that some are odd games from bundle.

I get all my games for free and I don't think anyone can beat that! Ahaha! Perks of not being in the USA.

Oh man, with all the amazing deals I've gotten from Steam's seasonal sales it's really difficult for me to remember which was the best. Off the top of my head I remember I got Microsoft Flight Simulator X for like $5 and the Game of the Year editions for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout: New Vegas together for like $5 as well.

That being said, the best real life deal of all time I had was a couple of years back, I remember buying a closed copy of Metal Gear Solid for like $10. That's a pretty crazy deal right there considering a new copy these days goes for $130 on Amazon.

Hi Sylar, I guess that the best deal I got from buying a game was last year when I bought Counter Strike Global Offensive from Steam. I didn't know at the time but my friends could not believe it that I have paid a small amount for such a good game!
Now I am always checking on the Internet for deals or coupons that will offer me a discount!

Buying steam 100 games from a site for 5$. That was a killer deal and all of them worked too! Too bad the sale ended quickly after though so lots of people missed out. All of them were trash games but it was a good buy still.

I bought one of those G2A CD key packs a few years back for 3 bucks. It had GTAV in it, which at the time was about 59.99. I'm not really money crunched or on a budget, but that feeling of cheating the store is amazing. Guess I see why gambling is such a problem for some people.

Had anyone else been thinking the Steam sales have had less deals in the last few years? I distinctly remember deals that made my jaw drop, now its just meh.

I got CIV 5 with all dlc some time ago for about $5, well worth the money if you ask me. You can just keep playing that game, so awesome!

Same, this is exactly the same deal that I got a while back! It's absolutely incredible, a total steal considering everything that comes with it + the number of hours that I've sunk into it. I've convinced my friends to get it during a few sales since so that I'd have some company...definitely don't regret it.

I also recall getting Portal 2 for less than $5 a good while back during a sale. Also a fantastic steal.

We had a local pawn shop that used to sell Super Nintendo games for $4 a pop. What made this great was it was back when the SNES was still a relevant system you could buy in stores! They never came with manuals or boxes, but I didn't care at the time. It was just great to be able to go in the store with $20 and come out with four or five great games at a time.
