Minecraft is still popular today, so much popular that many games were released being just a clone of it.
But some of those clones are pretty good. If you have tried any, what is in your opinion the best Minecraft-like game out there?

I used to play one on my Xbox 360 before Minecraft was released for console, can't remember what it was but it was great! It had so many different game modes and had a ton of different building blocks to create masterpieces with.

I can truthfully say that every minecraft wanna-be game I have played was not that good. In fact they were terrible. I don't think games should even try to copy Minecraft because believe it or not, the game is dying out.

It's not as popular as it used to be, but I wouldn't say it's dying out as it is still huge.

I've only tried one, and like Minecraft, it's enjoyable as long as you have your friends play with you. I played Creativerse for a while and I thought it was pretty good. Getting resources definitely felt easier, and the map is well designed. There are creatures that look so cute and some look so cool, and if you're brave enough, you can tame them. I think what made me stop was I found it a bit repetitive as they had only a few creatures that I could tame, and I really liked the aspect of capturing the strong ones and keeping them as pets.

Yes, I agree. Minecraft won't die out... I think it would take years and years for Minecraft to completely die out and even then you would still probably find players on it. It is the type of the game that you can never finish and you can express your creativity on. You can make anything you want and if you get bored of that you can simply join the many online servers - some have RP going on, some have minigames and so on.

Regarding the Minecraft clones - people always try to copy the successful things but no clone can beat the original game.

The only clone I have tried was Block World. It is just a complete Minecraft rip-off. I am surprised they didn't get sued for it :p

Not exactly a clone though. But I have seen some of the flash based games on Minecraft concept. Most of those games have pretty much same environment and world. And it can be fun to play them too. But considering the limitation of the CPU and the limited world with the flash games, I don't think for 3D they offer much.

There was one in which you had to build your own life on a desert island. Can't really recall the name but it was a decent game. The thing is most games out there have been inspired by other games, same with music and artists. Using someone else's work to base your own is ok and widely used by content creators. Now copying someone else's work is an entirely different situation.

Hi, Xilkozuf, in my opinion, Minecraft is and will remain the best game in its section of building blocks. A clone of Minecraft is Colony Survival that is a pretty good game, but it cannot pass over Minecraft. Still, Colony Survival is the best game that copies Minecraft!

I've never found any of them particularly favorable as they are all obviously significantly inferior to the game they are ripping off (or as they would call it, "taking inspiration from")

Most mobile version are pretty bad and always feature awful, unfinished user interfaces and texture packs. And the lack of content leaves something to be desired. Still, I guess you should commend the free versions for not charging their users for the initial experience, but whatever.

Never really showed much interest in the PC versions, but I guess since Unturned started out as a Minecraft clone, we might as well mention it. I actually like the game, considering the fact that it was made by one teenager (or so I hear) and its rather unique in a variety of ways, its definitely a great game in its own way. Don't forget that its free to play and does feature multiplayer, which is obviously something every other clone lacks.

Unturned presents a new way of playing the game, focusing more on survival and combat than building, and to be honest the only thing that makes it similar to Minecraft is the graphics style, which is not something Mojang exactly invented or anything.

SURVIVAL CRAFT!

I think that survival craft is the best Minecraft-Like game anywhere at the moment. If anything its better.
Survival Craft has all types of new animals, such as Rhinos, Lions, Giraffes, Zebras, Bears, and many others.
The game also has new and improved weapons, like a musket, crossbow, and bombs.
The red stone system is also superior the original vanilla Minecraft red stone system. It has wires, kind of like actual electricity, solar panels, improved lighting, thermostat, and clocks you can put on the wall.
Their biomes are a slight, bit different.
There is one downside to the app, there are no monsters or mobs. The mobs are the other animals that try to hunt you as prey.

I believe so too! Survival Craft is just like Minecraft but it has unique touches to it that you cannot find on Minecraft. I feel the much more realistic atmosphere in this game makes it a much more interesting game because of the challenge it brings. In no other game would I evacuate my shelter because of one single bear that camped near mine. I'm just hoping that Survival Craft gets more attention from people and it would soon have multiplayer. Minecraft developers would then take note of Survival Craft has.
