In my opinion, GTA 5 is the best of them all, and if you haven't yet played it you might be missing out. The previous games are very good, but GTA 5 is just on an entirely new level. The graphics, gameplay, and story are just incredible, not to mention the online mode is absolutely insane. Plus, the surplus of cars and the quality that they were designed with only makes the game that much better. This is why GTA 5 is my favorite.

Every GTA title is really interesting and fun to play. My favorite GTA title is GTA San Andreas. This the most famous and interesting title of GTA. People are still crazy about playing this version. I love the fast cars and bikes in it. I love to listen to the radio stations. A whole city is an amazing place to have fun. It is much realistic.

Vice City and San Andreas, their cheat codes are just too numerous, I also love the fact that I can customize the game music in Vice City. I still prefer vice city to San Andreas though.

Contrary to popular opinion, while I do love most GTA titles, Vice City will forever be my favorite. Not only was it mechanically great (bar the infamous RC helicopter missions, of course) and visually pleasing, but the soundtrack was just perfect. They sampled the best that the 80's could offer and created a nostalgic experience like no other. No game has replicated that for me thus far. The visuals and other sound effects helped too. From the pastel suits to the boxy supercars, that game captured one of the greatest eras mankind has gone through so beautifully.

San Andreas for sure. The game was just too good and awesome. I feel like a played the game 24/7 when it came out. Everyone was playing it in my school (both boys and girls). I played all GTA titles after that and not a single one was that good as SA.

I'd have to say Vice City or GTA III. I'm more than sure I put in over 800 hours on Vice City alone. I'm not even sure what I did half the time. Just ride around and hold up in the mall while I talked to friends on the phone haha. I definitely need to get it on Steam or something and properly play through it since I just got a new PC. Both of those games just bring so much nostalgia to me, it's weird.

I’m one to think that all GTA games should be loved equally. I mean, every single one of those games led us to the masterpiece that is GTA V and god knows that the world is by far a greater place because GTA V is a part of it. I don’t think I could ever get tired of that game. It’s just insanely good. San Andreas and Vice City were great too, but I’ll choose Franklin/Michael/Trevor over CJ any day.

I would have to say Vice City. The stations in that game got me into old school music. Sure the game might not have had the best mechanics but it sure as heck was fun. And I did like Tommy a lot.

I have to agree with you having Vice City as a favorite GTA title. The game had the late 70s - mid 80s vibe which more it unique than the other titles. The game was definitely not well developed compared to other later GTA releases. However, the game was good at the time in late 2002 during the release.

Mine would still be San Andreas to this day. I thought the gameplay was more fluid than Vice City, and I really dig the west coast hip hop soundtrack every time I turn on the radio and listen to Radio Los Santos. I still play it to this day, although in SA-MP (San Andreas Multiplayer) where I join gang wars since the community is still pretty active.

San andreas is my favorite for now because I don't have GTA 5. And from what I am hearing, I am missing a whole lot not having it. I am looking forward to it though.

I have to say it's GTA IV. Physics and gameplay considerations aside Niko's story was so good that it actually made me feel like him. Story plays a big role for me in gaming. For once he was a character we could all relate too. Now i am not saying SA and VC stories were bad. I just saying GTA IV had much more emotion to it.GTA V story felt unfinished and rushed for me.

Personally, I’ve also played every GTA game out there today. But there is one of the games which is probably the best and appeals to me the both. Mine is GTA Vice City Stories on the PlayStation Portable. Though it may be a spinoff of the original, GTA Vice City, I find it more fun, maybe because it’s just newer but the soundtrack of VCS is much better, in my opinion, than Vice City. That’s is probably the main reason why Vice City Stories is my favourite game.

I don't want to copy what I've said on other threads, but Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is my favorite GTA title from the series. It left a major mark on my childhood gaming days during the PS2 era. Also, the GTA: SA storyline, in my opinion, was the most relatable. I felt a disconnect in GTA IV with Nico Bellic and GTA V with Franklin, Michael, and Trevor. Personally, I found it easier to follow CJ's story throughout the game, than any other character from any GTA title. Even though I've had more fun on IV and V, nothing will beat the classic San Andreas from 2004.

To be fair, all of the GTA titles have their own unique appeals. It's quite hard to pick a favorite but if I have to it would be San Andreas. This is a game you can dwell on for days on end and would still be able to find new things to do, coupled with the humongous map (at the time at least) and the freedom to player specifications, this game really has no competition. Now I know GTA V has all of these and more, I am picking SA over V on the virtue that it came out more than a decade ago (and I'm partial to the story line.)

San Andreas, not because when I was 9 and when my parents strictly told me they better not see me playing it. (I did when they were at work..Ha ha.) But I like the names that don't have numbers, like I understand what city the game is taking place in but it's just funner when they have the city names and not GTA IV, GTA V, etc. However GTA 5 is the best game in the series but I gotta go back to my roots and say GTA San Andreas is my favorite title.

The lost and Damned was a very good title. It just seems more mean and gangster than the rest. Those bikers from the sequel were the toughest gang I've ever seen in my life though, thumbs up to them.
There was that penis cutscene though that still scars me to this day. And yeah, LatD was great, but the weapons and story left a lot to be desired. The motorcycle gameplay sounded cool at first, but the choppers were pretty slow in my opinion, and I preferred driving cars compared to those things. The sawn-off shotguns were in my opinion the only good thing about the game. Ballad of Gay Tony had more fun weapons and missions, and it returned the parachutes and explosive rounds.

GTA San Andreas' map was huge enough that you can explore, but it is also small enough that you can memorize or at least familiarize yourself with the city layouts. Larger maps in GTA 4 and 5 felt like a chore to drive around, and I ended up just taking a cabs to the mission destinations, as the city layout looked too dull and repetitive for me to care.

I would have to say that my favorite GTA title is GTA V because you can do so much in the game, it's just over once you finish the story because then you can go to online. I've played all of the other GTA's but I still prefer GTA V.
