Do you wait for discounts?

I usually always wait for discounts. I rarely buy anything that isn't on discount. And pre-ordering is something I would never do considering how many failures have been out so far. Companies basically make people who pre-order their "lab rats". Another thing I'm also gonna pay more attention to is early access. Especially on Steam. Too many games stay on Early Access forever and they always use that as an excuse for bad things happening. And you just can't tell me that certain game can be 5 years in the early access, yet it earns millions.

Unless it's a game I really really really want then of course I will wait for a discount! I'm really weak to discounts, so every time there is a really huge discount then I'd buy it. And if I just want to play a game but I need to buy it, then I'd wait for a discount to exist. I love discounts, they're the #1 rule of saving money.

Yep, and I refuse to pre-order. A few weeks isn't really that bad, but sometimes it takes months to see prices lowered significantly. That can be a little nail biting, but yeah, that kind of money adds up fast.

That's what I'm talking about with World of Warcraft. You couldn't wait and remain relevant. Now that I just putter though, it's fine. You can't get on a decent raid team or PvP team if you wait, but I don't do competitive or group content any more.

Yes, but this is also true in a negative way since sometime I buy a game just because it have a discount, even if I wasn't waiting for it. Gog, Steam, and similar services offer lot of discounts and this really ruined my wallet, and made my game library grow immensely.

It depends on how bad I really want the game. But I almost Always wait for a sale or discount because they always have one not too long after release. It is delayed gratification.... I have waited several times only to later realize I didn't really want the game afterall or that it wasn't exactly what I thought.

I would say that if it is an established series that you KNOW you will definitely enjoy, maybe don't wait if you have the money. However, if it is a totally New game series from a group that isn't proven (like No Man's Sky), I think it is smart to wait at least a few weeks or so until you see what people say.

That's another thing that could make a difference for your wallet. If you later realize that you didn't really want the game, you'll be glad you didn't spend any money on it (even at a discounted rate). You can always use the money you saved for another game or for something else entirely (new gaming mouse or other gear comes to mind).

Yep, if you know you are going to play it no matter what, that might be a deciding factor. Otherwise, wait for the price drop. It's often a good idea to wait a little while anyway, since lots of games these days seem to come out either somewhat unfinished or with some bugs. If you wait, you can skip all those issues plus save money.

Yes, I usually wait for discounts as I have a lot of games to catch up on. Games that are not on my priority but I would like to play, I would wait till its sale. Money saved could be used to buy those games that you have passed on but would still like to play. But there are games that of course no matter what, I would like to play. and if a game I want to play would have discounts for pre-order, then I would likely get a pre-order.

I tend to buy more things new rather than discounted, but a lot of this depends on the game. If it's a game I really, truly want, a multiplayer-heavy game with other friends starting out at the release date, or there's preorder bonuses I can't live without (this instance is very rare, but I do enjoy FUNCTIONAL preorder bonuses, such as carrying cases), then I'll probably buy it on release. If none of the above apply, I'm content with waiting.

I always buy second hand games or games available on heavy discounts. I cannot afford buying new ones.

Even for buying the discounted ones I have to keep collecting money the whole year .

I DOOOO! Sometimes I wait for them longer than I have to lmao. There are games that I just didn't get at all until they were made free to download for a day or two. I recently got Payday 2 for free on steam, my friends were urging me to get it about a year ago, but being the cheapskate I am, I waited LOL. I honestly didn't think it was going to happen but seeing as how some games already went the same road once or twice, I had my hopes up.

Sincerely, I wait for discounts especially when I know I'm with my cash. I just love paying for things at a given discount. It really encourages me to keep coming back buying more.

I do unless it's a title that I really want to get. Otherwise a good deal or discount makes me happy. It's more money down the line for new releases or games that I want to buy.

I'm to the point where I purchase so few games that I typically get what I want to play upon release.

Back when I was younger and played a bunch of titles every year, I would wait for a month or two before picking them up except for those games that were absolutely necessary to play from the outset like Madden since I was a big MUT player.

I pretty much always wait for games to get cheaper. It depends on the game and how much I think I'll get out of it time wise. For example, I really wanted to get Ratchet and Clank for the PS4, but I waited for a while and ended up getting it for 10 dollars. On the other hand, I bought Battlefield One for 40 dollars because I knew it would be worth it in terms of how much time I'll spend playing it.

Spending more than 20 dollars on a game for me is honestly pretty rare, but it happens!

I mostly buy the discounted stuff. Honestly I cant afford stuff. And playing is expensive for me for the same reason. So indie bundles and the steam discounts are my options. Some of the time I do try out the deals and get bigger discount. But keeping that aside, it can be said that it's better for me to have deals.

Yes, almost always. I mean I am not buying games that often, but when I do, I am waiting for it to be discounted. Since steam has some great discounts, it really pays off in the end. You can literally buy 4-5 games for the price of one, it's great.

I usually buy my games at full-price. I wish I were more financially aware, but with buying games, it's kinda like a bragging right that you bought the game at full price even though you've suckered yourself. If I ever catch on to a game before it's trending I might consider saving money for once with a discount. Steam is pretty good at setting that up.

Unfortunately, the current state of modern games has made me a pretty pessimistic person when it comes to the quality of most content. Because of this I just can't justify paying full price for any game. Thankfully as a PC gamer and Steam user, once the Steam sales come along I get to give most games a chance and see where I was right and where I was wrong. Without Steam sales I probably wouldn't play most games until years after they've already released.

If I really love the game I dont't wait for any sale what so ever, ain't nobody got time for that! If there is new content that I will enjoy no matter what I buy it immediately. If it is something new that i need to try out I will wait beause usually at that time I'm paying someting I like alrady. Depends on how much free time I have also. If I am on vacation and know that later on i won't be able to play the game then there is no much sense in waiting for sale if I won't have time to play it after I buy it cheaper.

Funny question, I do sometimes, but sometimes I just can't wait to get the game, take for example GTA V, I wouldn't wait for that game to discount so I can buy it.
