BF or COD?

Ahhhh... So the infamous question of "Call of Duty vs. Battlefield" has finally emerged on the Forum. Just kidding guys. But seriously, would you guys prefer Battlefield or Call of Duty? Personally, I enjoy the battlefield franchise more because of its life-like gameplay. But I want to know what you guys think!

5 Years ago I would of jumped in and said BF without even thinking. However BF has been slowly moving away from it's roots. They still are two different types of gameplay and I would still recommend it over COD any day. But the decision is getting tougher.

I prefer the Battlefield games myself. A lot more interesting, especially when vehicles get involved.

Before Hardline and BF4, I'd have said Battlefield all the way. At this point I really don't like either of them.

Honestly, whenever I play Battlefield I enjoy it more than any COD I have played recently (since BO2), but I still tend to buy COD instead on a yearly basis just because I find it easier to jump into - I have to concentrate less.

Call of Duty all day for me. In all honesty I can't tell you why, but I do like CoD more.

I think Battlefield gets too realistic for my liking and it seems slow at times with action compared to the CoD franchise.

CoD. I don't know why, but I have never played the game itself, though. I have seen its storyline. I think, it's not that bad.

I think both franchises have their positive and negative sides. I've played both through the years. If I had to choose, I'd choose Call of Duty. I just spent way more hours on those games. I prefer no vehicles which BF is full of. Also some of BF maps are too big.

My all time favourite is still CoD4 and MW2. I think MW2 is still one of my most played steam games

The only thing that I do dislike is the constant over saturation with releasing new games. CoD released a new game / version every year now? It's a bit much. I'd prefer less but more quality made releases.

I'm not that into the latest one. It's too futuristic for my taste. Looking forward to CoD: WWII that's coming on 3rd of November.

I honestly believe that both games are just great! They are similar but very different at the same time. Speaking about the CoD franchise first, I really think they have done a great job at keeping their games the same way they have always been. The experience, the motion of every movement that you do feels just very smooth and I believe this is something that has always characterized these games. On the other hand, the Battlefield experience is way more serious, the game itself makes you feel like not wanting to make a false move. The sound effects will always be a plus on this game. Thumbs up for both games to be honest!

Well, I grew up on Call of Duty, I still play it, I actually was just playing, but lately the newer Call of Dutys have not been so great and the only reason people bought Infinite Warfare was for MWR.

I've always loved COD. It excels at single player campaigns, and it started to become a popular multiplayer game in our area since the release of Modern Warfare. Speaking of BF, the single player mode was never compelling until the most recent ones came out. It would seem that they took a similar direction to COD. BF really shines when it comes to multiplayer. COD kicks serious ass when it comes to multiplayer too, but the size and the massiveness of the maps in BF makes for a whole different experience for the players.

When it comes to older titles, COD was really fun. First multiplayer COD game was really fun, I played it a lot on lan parties. First modern warfare was also a great title. There is a huge difference between both. I found BF more fun though, it had more freedom, different tactics, and GOD, no annoying lame knife kills by getting stabbed in the foot. When COD introduced knives to their games, the whole multiplayer world changed. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to smash my keyboard by checking the KC and the player that has killed me was either a mile away from me or has slashed my arm and I magically died. Quite annoying.

I am a Call of Duty fan because I have played it and enjoyed the storyline. However, I never played Battlefield or know the storyline.

Honestly, I haven't really played Battlefield story that much. I mostly played multiplayer. It was a big switch from COD to BF at start and I hated it, but when I got used to it, I started liking it more. It takes skill to master everything in battlefield, recoil has to be controlled, you may upgrade your gun to have better recoil control and such at expense of losing something else. Its quite realistic in some aspects

I think I prefer Call of Duty. Granted, I've only logged about three hours on Battlefield. But Modern Warfare 2 was just great.

Was always partial to COD because I couldn't physically play Battlefield.

In Battlefield, the character has a sway when they move/run that isn't present or isn't as pronounced in COD. It would end up causing me motion sickness after an hour session or so. Because of that, I just gave up on the BF franchise.

Battlefield was my favorite few year back due to some of us playing on regular basis. I switched to call of duty since those zombie stuff started. And been with COD ever since. I don't go for the Battlefield these days as there are lot of good options in COD lately and I'd say there is definitely progress for COD.

I like them both, but I think the Battlefield games are almost objectively better games. I think it really comes to your multiplayer preference since that's what you're really buying. I only have Battlefield One right now, but I had Black Ops III on the PS4. When I play Battlefield I usually just play regular Team Deathmatch which I feel is pretty irregular.

I was a die hard fan of COD untill a few years ago. COD:Black Ops was their last great game. After that it all went downhill both gameplay and story wise. These days i am a big BIG fan of BF. While their first games weren't great BF4 absolutely rocks. The opportunities it presents to its players of driving vehicles and flying jets is just awesome.

I think to say one is better than the other would be a bit of a logical fallacy. They all have their merits and lack thereof in different departments. I love COD, whether its the classics or, contrary to popular opinion, the newer, futuristic titles. They all look really good and they're great fun in multiplayer and singleplayer. There's always a good amount of fresh content with every release and the maps are awesome. Nuketown is probably going to go down as a classic in gaming history for a long time. Same applies to awesome maps like Rust.

But Battlefield, for my own reasons, holds a special place in my heart. I much prefer the more realistic approach, the vehicles, the massive maps and of course the awesome weapons and settings. Battlefield 3 and 4 were modern warfare at its finest and Battlefield 1 brought it back to this awesome and wild WWI setting with its unique guns and crazy maps. And horses!
