How much money?

I'm only going to guess how much I've spent on PC gaming in the past 2 years. My PC alone is around $1200, peripherals and monitors around $300 as well as a steam account with well over 200+ games and an Origin account with a good few release that were bought on release day. This probably totals up around $2k-2.5k only on PC gaming. I have got a PS4 but I've only bought the BO3 season pass, my spending for that comes in around at £320 as I got a great bundle deal.

I've spent about $900 so far, for my PS4, including an extra controller, two years of PS Plus, and about forty games (got a lot on sale).

Probably $3000, from PS1 to PS4 and all of their games. PS1 and PS2 + their games were much cheaper compare to PS3 and PS4. But I have no regrets. I made sure that all the money I spent was worth it.

I honestly haven't got a clue because I never kept records. But just to give a rogue estimate - I have been gaming ever since the SNES. I've owned SNES, PS1, PS2, PS3 very shortly, Xbox 360, PS4, Wii U, 3DS, Gameboy.

I still have PS4, Xbox 360, Wii U and 3DS XL. For each of the consoles I've listed, I've had over ten games. Yes, every single console. I often bought used games though so that makes it a bit more ''reasonable''.

Then there's my computer. It wasn't the most expensive computer ever, I think I've paid around 700 euros for it but I do have a ton of games on Steam. I often buy the bundles where you get 2-3 games together for a good price. I don't tend to buy brand new releases though. But hey, this is the life of a gamer :D

I have no freaking clue anymore. Probably several thousand dollars? I wish I did keep track of all of the spending. It would be nice for record keeping.

In the past I spent a lot of games, consoles and accessories, even earmarking a good part of my salary for this. Today I keep playing, but I have reduced my spending to focus a little more on my education and other expenses of my house.

Back then i easily spent over 1000$ in my PS3 and games. In my teenage years the priorities we others and it was pretty much the only thing i could see myself spending money with. Now as an Adult i'd never spend as much as 100$ with videos games. It's just how life is. Different times different priorities

I might go a bit overboard during Steam sales and what not, yet my latest purchase was my 3DS XL a few years ago. I would like to upgrade to the New 3DS XL but there's so much spending I can do.
Not to mention that where would my baby go? It's hard to get attached while also being a greedy goblin ┗(・ω・ )┛

I spent about $1,200 on my PC, but that was about 6 years ago now. It still runs the game I want to play just fine, but it's getting close to time to upgrade it. Overall, I've probably spent several hundred dollars on game through Steam, as well. Since I use my PC to edit videos and photos for a living, it's easily paid for itself, so I consider my only real expense to be games!

About close to $1k overall for PC. I have to upgrade a bit and I wanted to have a big monitor. I own games in steam that which I estimate is close to about a $100.

TOO MUCH!

Seriously though, had I known what I do today, I would have avoided a lot of crappy decisions. For example, when I started out, I spent a bunch of cash on awful PS2 games with no replay value simply because I didn't know what a good or bad game was to begin with. With PlayStation 2, I probably spent in the region of $300.

Then, I moved onto PC games and also wasted a ton of cash. Eventually ended up just being given games from friends, which made life easier. I just had a cheap laptop and 2 gaming mice, a RAT3 and a SteelSeries Rival, so that's about $200 where I live. Games was around $100, probably less.

Then, mobile gaming... oh gosh the money I wasted here. I wish I didn't buy all those App Store gift cards because I wasted them on the silliest things, from in-app purchases in those awful Gameloft and Supercell games to bland, pointless games like Shadowgun. Can't say it was all a waste though, titles like Alto's Adventure and Monument Valley were beautiful experiences that I will remember forever as great moments in mobile gaming. I'd say mobile gaming was a good $200.

Then there was Steam, the be-all, end-all. Spent so much on CS:GO items and other Steam games. Probably totaled around $700. Complete waste. Don't buy imaginary items guys, buy experiences.

Well my graphics card alone is around $300. Add that to the upgrades I made through the years and you're looking at a decent sum. For games, I don't think I spend much (compared to others) since I usually wait for sales to get in on the action. I won't purchase games unless it's 60% off at least, so I think I'm balancing my expenses by being incredibly cheap on video games, while having a little breathing room for the hardware.

Due to my great passion towards games and gaming, in the last one decade, I guessed I have incurred almost $1500 and that's not even enough. I still have to buy some game accessories, and gaming consoles before the year runs out.

I lost count. Its because I'm more into pc games and upgrades are needed, but that was then. Now, im just enjoying games that my laptop can handlecoz im already married. Let's just say ive spent about 5k on hardware when i was free.

Ah, the price of marriage. Congrats dude, but do you ever miss playing games and prioritizing upgrades? When your toughest decision is to get a game at full price instead of at a sale, or if the game is worth what they are charging. I guess that's the price of growing up, huh?

More than I would like to admit. For starters, I paid $1,700 just for my laptop alone. Then after adding up the values in my purchase history on Steam, it turns out I bought $1,200 in games on Steam. Then there is about $300 in accessories such as my gaming mouse, backpack, and controller. So altogether around $3,200.

And that doesn't include the other consoles I've owned including my PlayStation 2/3. Including those easily adds at least another $3,000 into the mix.

How's a laptop worth that much? I got my graphics card (1060 6GB) for about $250, and the rest don't even cost as much. My set is perfectly capable of running games released these days, so I don't feel the need to upgrade right now. But to spend that much for a laptop is beyond me. As for Steam, I usually wait for sales and buy my games in bulk, so I probably haven't even spent $100 on the games I have since I only buy if it's 50% off or more. Other games I got for free due to promos and special sales.

Damn, making an esteem is tough, now that I think about it. I've surely gone past the 1500$ bar through all these years, but I can't be any more precise.
Most money comes from the consoles themselves, not counting my laptop (well, I didn't buy it exclusively for gaming), otherwise I'd get past the 2000$ threshold, too, probably. I don't I've spent more than 500$ on all retail games combined, since I buy very few of them at launch. As for digital games, the bar is set even lower. I probably haven't spent more than 150$ for that (bless Steam and Humble Bundle).
To be fair, I would have expected much more, considering for how much time I've been playing.

I didn't kept count until 2015. Then onwards I guess around 530 or so. I guess more if we count the indie bubdles that are floating around. I spent more money on them too. It may not be much in that case. But overall spending on those was higher. I guess we just have to work with what we can sell there.
