Do you guys remember playing Age of Empires? I still play it once and a while just for fun. It just never gets old to me. It reminds so much of Command and Conquer (another game I absolutely love). I find that it's almost an anti-climactic moment when I win and am declared Victorious because I realize that the mission is over and all the time I spent upgrading everything and now it's just over. lol

Loved the first 3 games in this series a lot, kind of went downhill from there and wasn't as good in my opinion (the DS version wasn't great in my opinion either). They were good fun though and I wish they would make some like the old ones again.

Yup, Age of Empires II: Age of Kings was among the first ever video game I played and I'd say it was probably the first game I ever played with any seriousness. I guess there's something about being a God and creating your own empire that speaks to me lol. AoE 3 was my favourite and I still play it occasionally.

I miss AoE 2. They had the potential to make a phenomenal series, but they ruined it trying to go mainstream.

I can never forget this game. My cousin and I was playing this together on our computer. It was a very addicting and good game. We were never getting bored to play this game over and over again.

I think if I remember I played around first 4 installment of the series. 3rd being my favorite for many reasons. I loved the story line based gaming in the 3rd installment. Then after 4 and onwards, things just got more heavy on the graphics side. You can see that the concept of age of empires is definitely good and worth playing if you are into such type of games.

I am a huge Age of Empires fan. One of the best strategy games ever made! I played so much of the 2nd and 3rd one. I even tried myself in multiplayer but I got owned pretty badly, haha. People on it were incredibly good and timed exactly what to build when and on exact second. I preferred playing solo or compete with my friends that were on my level of skill.

I am really excited about the newly announced Age of Empires Remastered. You should check out the trailer they've showed at E3. It should include brand new graphics, updated soundtracks, and new gameplay. Fingers crossed for tons of new addition and the revival of the legendary AoE series.

Thanks for the heads up! I completed missed this but if they do this right and tied it into the Xbox on PC Achievement system, I'm pretty sure this will be a purchase for me. I put thousands of hours into this series and I'm looking for an old school feel since I don't like the path they're taking Civilization in.

I loved that game when I was a kid. I feel like I played it 24/7, it was so fun. I'm waiting for this remastered edition to play it again.

Yes! Long days of my childhood were spent in AOE games. I have to say my favorite is Age of Mythology. I have always loved Mythology and the possibility of having them all in the same game was just superb. AO3 takes second place in my list. Loved the cannons and ship battles! Few games have such a rich amount of things to do and units to buy etc

Wow I used to Love playing this game for hours upon hours, still do but not as often Though. I've been kinda hoping something new from them would come out but this time stickin to the concept, I mean just the originality of the game. Aoe 3 is my favorite..

Oh, man, me and my friends used to argue about this all the time. I was always an AoE guy while my friends all like AoM and they'd always gang up on me. And then we'd play both games and I'd beat them in both and they wouldn't talk to me for a while. I didn't mind, I had more time to play AoE LOL I was really addicted.

WOLOLO!
Yes I do remember Age of Empires, yes I LOVED every second of it! And I sucked! Well, I was pretty young at the time... I had so much fun with the cheats! I don't remember if it was in the first one or the second one, but there was a cheat to have A CAR! A fast car that could destroy literally everything!
I can't wait for the remaster.

Haha yeah, i've been there. But come on once you grow up you realize it: What's the point in arguing about it? Both games are great in their own respective terms. There is no point in comparing them really. But if you ask me AoM still is my favorite. Better story, better heroes, and everything.

Hold up.

Nah, I'm just kidding, I agree with you. Well, in that there's no point in arguing when we're grown men.

AoE is still my favorite though.

I use to play that game back in the day, I played up until the 3rd version, but that game can kill a lot of time so I don't play it that much now, but I think I still have a copy of that game for my MAC.

I loved this game as a kid. This game is one of my all-time favorite games as I loved the game-play and history theme. I hope the upcoming Remastered version will live up to the high expectations.

First three editions of game were good. But then later they created their own history and manipulated a lot of stuff. So it was not that good in that context. As you can see it was kind of hard to see thaat game changing on so many counts. I'd hope they add some reasonable value in such games in near future.
