Hey guys. Well I am moving houses and a result I will have a bigger room. So I am going to build a desktop computer that can fit my needs.

I code, edit videos, browse the web, game and develop. Would anybody be willing to make a PC part picker list?

Well, for 1,000 you could get a decent PC.
You should really focus on buying a Motherboard, Processor and Ram - if you have left over money I would suggest you purchase a graphics card so you can play games without any lag.

Sorry for the late reply but okay I will start shopping around. Is 8GB of RAM enough or would I need 16GB? and would an i7 processor get the job done?

You know, PCPartpicker is already filled with builds to fit any budget. People often show them off. This build was one made by PCMR, I just modified the video card to pull down the price to better fit your budget. Check it out.

8GB would suffice for most everything now. Of course, 16GB is better, but you don't NEED it.

When building a Budget PC(and 1000 is a decent budget) you focus on bettering stuff that isn't upgradable for cheap down the line. So get a MB that can handle different speeds of ram, that can handle the latest cpu, SLI or Crossfire , etc. Once you pick the motherboard, I'd say start with 8 GB of ram or 2 x 4 GB of it. If you picked the right MB, you should have 2 more slots for down the road. After focus on CPU, You want speed but don't need to overkill for tons of money. So the i5 4690k is a great CPU under the i7 with not a ton of missing speed.

Now the only things remaining are Case and Powersupply. I would definately do a little shopping because both of them can be found on sale easily. I'd suggest you browse slickdeals.net for some up to date sales on all the items above.

An i3 will fit your needs, and an i5 will work great. No need for an i7.
