Are any of you guys going to be 'upgrading' to Windows 10 when it comes out? I don't know much about it but have already signed up to get it. I'm on Windows 7 but use 8 frequently on my friend's laptop and like the way it feels. I'm also excited to see the built in apps available. Is anyone else looking forward to Windows 10?

It looks promising but I won't upgrade until it's extensively tested by everyone else. :p I'm quite happy with Windows 7 and I even downgraded my laptop from 8 to 7 when I bought it because of how uncomfortable 8 was. 10 does seem like a much better improvement but I'll still wait and see. I reserved my free copy but I don't know if I'll actually install it.

I wouldn't wait to upgrade if you can, from the sounds of it. Windows 7 and 8 will be dropped in terms of support from microsoft real quick(within a few years. Pushing developers to do the same, so I would expect support to quickly die out for things like GFX drivers etc.

I have signed up for the free upgrade on my laptop but will hold off for a few days once it launches just to make sure everything is running as smooth as possible and that there are no major issues.

I want it and I know that you can reserved it already but I have no idea how to do that. It says there should be an icon at the bottom of my laptop but that never existed.

You can download the ISO file here and copy it's contents to a USB, mark it as bootable, or just burn the file to a CD/DVD and upgrade from whatever version of Windows you're currently using. Use the product key provided and you're all set. It'll automatically upgrade itself to the release candidate once it's ready on the 29th.

I'll pass on Win10, my philosophy is: why fix what isn't broken? Win7 is serving me just fine and everything is still majorly developed for it, so I'll stick with it until it's discontinued like I did with WinXP XD Plus there's all of those strange security "features" that actually pipe back personal data to Microsoft and so many things you have to disable or remove entirely, it doesn't seem worth it to me right now.

I'm already using it for 3 months now. Almost flawless, but like any operating system that has just been released it has it's fair share of inconvenient bugs. I just hope the upcoming big updates fix everything. 7 wasn't flawless at the beginning either.

For those that didn't upgrade for free, it's too late now if you are thinking of doing it you have to pay now. I didn't really want to do the upgrade when I did but I'm glad that I did. If I want to revert back to windows 8.1 I can but I can still keep or install windows from scratch.

I signed up as one of the beta testers for Microsoft. So I was one of the first users on Windows 10. I must say, my first couple of months weren't the smoothest as the Windows 10 update brought a lot of problems. From issues with Cortana to the Windows Store not opening itself, my upgrade wasn't the best experience.

Personally, my favorite Windows was 8.1. I thoroughly enjoyed that user-interface that Microsoft incorporated for the time. I feel Windows 10 is a clash of both worlds (7 and 8). However, they've done some minor updates since the release of Windows 10 which has dramatically fixed my laptop and PC (along with several tweaks of my own). I will say every laptop/PC had a different experience upgrading to Windows 10. I just wish mine had gone smoother.

Although Windows 10 has already been released some time ago, I have not felt particularly secure in using it on a day-to-day basis.
I am still an old adept at Windowns 7, but I think they change soon enough.

Yeah, it works fine. I get pop-up announcements on things happening on my laptop, which is cool I guess. I need to check them out though. I'ts not Windows 8 and I appreciate that.

I been using Windows 10 since the first bata released for testing and researching purpose. About six month later Microsoft released the full free upgrade version and there main focus on doing it so that banks and other businesses that still using XP to get moved up.

So I been using it for quit some time, even in the early days that there has been updates after updates with problems and errors. That's what people need to respect that the errors that getting now us nothing compared to the earlier days, and also keep in mind that when upgrading that your computer might nit able to run it if it foes freeze on you.

Well for gaming I find Windows 8.1 is the best. I had some problems with games on Windows 7, and 8 I then tried out Windows 10 and for my specific system I would have to say Windows 8.1 works better than any other Microsoft OS that i'v gamed on before. Well that's just when i'm not running Linux.
