Does anyone still play adventure games? Some of them were good. I'm thinking of Myst and, my favorite, The Longest Journey. I'm not really sure why they're not popular anymore. The best ones had great animation and actors doing the voices of the characters. Riven had wonderful puzzles to solve.

I still play them. Some must play adventure games are Day of the Tentacle and Monkey Island (all of them). There are a lot more good ones and for anyone looking to play older adventure games, look up ScummVM. I just recently started playing through Day of the Tentacle again, has to be one of the funniest games ever.

I played this game called perfect world international, But only for about 2 hours. Sadly my computer couldn't handle the graphics, which sucks. I plan on playing it again when I get a new computer, It's an alienware x51 :Blackalien: , EXPENSIVE I know, But it's so cool !

On occasions I'll play Adventure Games. Not all the time though because I prefer Sports or Shooting Games.

I think the last adventure game I played was one of the Space Quest games, and that was back when I was a kid. I only remembered it recently as well, since I was watching a Game Grumps playthrough of Space Quest and it just happened to jog my memory.

I think I'm going to have to get my hands on a couple of those games and play through them again. They might be a bit dated at this point but I think it'd still be super fun to give them another shot since the humor and quirky style is still timeless.

Not a very big fan of adventure games though but I did play some games at my friend's place. I think Night In The Woods and Walking Dead game series are good and latest Resident Evil 7 is also looking good. I do remember playing one more game called Ghost Recon, and it was cool too.

The Telltale Walking Dead series is considered as adventure games so I would say those. I love the entire series except for the ending in season 3. I thought the ending, or at least the one I had, was the worst I've ever gotten in any Telltale game. The game was decent though, I love it with its simplistic controls, and at times, intense decision making. It was a new approach for me as I never thought I would enjoy a game that I just point and click most of the time.

That Walking Dead game on Steam has a ton of good reviews, I was tempted to get it. Now that I read your review, I may not because of the way you phrased the ending. I hate it when games have crappy endings. It makes me feel like I wasted the entire hours spent playing on a game that has either terrible resolution, budget cuts during the last parts of the game so it feels rushed, etc; the ending is what makes or breaks a game for most people. They want to feel that their hours spent on the game had to be justified.

I'm actually not a huge fan of adventure games unless they offer multiplayer. My favourite type of video game genre right now would have to be MMORPG. However, I did play skyrim a lot as a kid.

I suggest you get the first two seasons as they were really good. I had a really good ending in the second one that made me cry lol. It was just the 3rd season that bummed me out. It started pretty well, unexpected things happening and all that, but the romance felt very forced and the ending sucked (I checked out all the endings and turns out they all weren't that good, not good at all if you ask me).

I used to play Adventure Quest, not sure how I got addicted to it, the problem I had with them was the membership I could never afford back and now it looks like crap, and I don't think I would play it anymore.

Fair enough. I'll check it out if the price is right during the next sale, thanks. What do you think about Tell Tale Games in general? Are they worth getting? I swear there's Batman, Game of Thrones; they just add "tell tale" to anything these days to make a profit on the back of an established franchise in my opinion.

I like adventure games. As much as I love a good action game it seems to me the adventure genre creates a bond with the universe. Take Skyrim for instance. You find yourself actually worried about the outcome of quests because you've been through so much together with your character that he becomes one of your friends. The same thing happens in Darkest Dungeon.

I love adventure games. It helps that a lot of games pair the adventure genre with the action one, and that's how you get Skyrim, Zelda, The Witcher, Dark Souls and so on (with a sprinkle of RPG elements). I just love exploration, apparently.
I also like point-and-click adventure games, though. Grim Fandango is great, I played Monkey Island a long time ago and I had a blast. I should play Broken Age some day. There are even some recent series that have gained some renown in the past years, like Deponia, and they really managed to catch the spirit of the old classic adventure games.

An online adventure game is a game that is mostly come across on the web whereby an adventure game player follows the instructions and guide of an adventurer through a conversational mode. Because an adventure game is now seen to be a game that is captivating, full of fun and facilitates the
growth and development of a child's brain, a lot of people are developing keen interests in it.

An adventure game player is such a person who explores the possible mechanisms and techniques to complete puzzles, solve technical problems as well as tackle other common challenges.

On one side I like adventure games, on the other side I know I suck at them and I always look up to solutions on Internet. But I like them anyway, since most of them are pretty good plot and likable characters.
The Longest Journey is a classic, I agree, one of the best game I've ever played. Grim Fandango and Monkey Island are second favorites.
Also, but I don't know if we coul consider them adventure games, I absolutely love the games from Amanita Design! Their style is so freaking cooool!
