PC is, and always will be the master race. You can do so much more on a PC than on a console. You don't need to pay to just get online whereas consoles you're required to pay a fee.
I built my friend a PC for $900 and he was able to play BF4 on ultra, and he can also use it for what ever else his mind wishes. PC has more functions and whatnot, and it can be used for more than just gaming.

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3820 CPU @ 3.60GHz
Manufacturer Intel
Speed 3.6 GHz
Number of Cores 8
Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
Manufacturer NVIDIA
Chipset GeForce GTX 760
Dedicated Memory 2.0 GB
Total Memory 3.9 GB
Memory 16 GB

That is my PC. I left out storage but I have an SSD with pretty much only windows on it and a 1TB + a 500GB SATA drive for games/anything else.

This might have cost me alot more than a console, but I get so much more for the value.
You have to consider it's not just the hardware, because, console will NEVER catch up in hardware. The PS4's hardware specs have been available to PC gamers for years before the PS4 came out.

But like I said, it's not just the hardware. It's the deep pool of games to choose from, it's the prices and availability of those games. And the list just goes on and on.

I'm a PC gamer, and proud of it! :D

I have to agree, PC gaming brings you so much more for your buck. With free internet access from the computer, and free to play games. and a million other options that can not be attained ona console, PC is by far the masters. ....HMM i had a perfect explanation as to why the PC is the master but I was not sure of the Admins would have liked it, But be informed the PC is the master of the gaming world. If not for PCs you would not have your games in the first place :)

PC will always be the master race my friend. The PS4 is but a joke, it's existence really has no meaning. In any case, you can rest assured that this will be the final console generation. The level of versatility, and openness that you get on a PC can not be achieved on a console, any console. This is something that will never change, because of the way consoles are designed.

Here is the configuration of my main desktop :
i7-4770K @ 4.5GHz
MSI Twin Frozr IV OC GTX 780 3GB
16GB Corsair Dominator Platinum (2x8GB)
MSI Z87 GD65 Gaming Motherboard
Corsair RM750 Fully modular PSU
Corsair Carbide 300R case
Noctua U-14S CPU Cooler
Samsung 840 EVO 2x250GB SSDs
Seagate Barracuda HDDs : 1x750GB, 1x1TB, 1x 2TB, 1x3TB
ASUS PB278Q 27" 1440p Monitor

You mentioned that the PS4 can produce up to 1.84TFLOPS, well let me tell you that my GTX 780 at it's overclocked state produces just about 4.05TFLOPS which is a mammoth increment. I'm sure you can imagine the kind of impact that would have in terms of performance.

I implore you to take into consideration the many reasons why a PC (any PC) is better in every way to a console, before you waste your money on something as restrictive as a PS4.

Hope you change your opinion on this!

Much cheaper games, 60 fps since like 2010, free online capabilities, no need to upgrade an entirely new console every few years. Honestly I sometimes feel that consoles are holding PC games back with all their console exclusive crap and lack of 60 fps support just because consoles can't handle it.

There is no question about it. Not only you get access to cheaper game, you also get a better version of it. You don't need to pay for playing online. And yeah, there is no such thing like backwards compatibility. We will be modding the hell outta a game while you'll b buying remakes.

PC will always be the master race. Consoles are definitely holding PC gaming back in some ways. Also, most console games are usually developed on PCs, consoles use graphic cards and such that were originally used for PC gaming. The list goes on and on.

PC = master race. While the PS4 controller does feel good in the hand, and the games optimised for the console do look good, there's no way they can beat a good PC. The hardware gap will continue to increase and for now the PS4 stands, but in two years it's gonna be outdated.

The only reason PC is master race is because you don't have to buy a whole new computer every 5 years. Consoles have to upgrade now and then but PC's can upgrade at (atleast in my opinion) a cheaper price.

PC will most likely superior every time. The upgradeable parts of the computer makes it very liable and is a better investment than consoles. Also the commodity of being it able to do everything, not just run games.

I think it is, at least in my country. My PC costs almost the same price as a PS4 or Xbox One in my country and beats them both. Both of them cost around $650. Besides, you can do a lot of other work on a PC, like designing, animation, image editing, programming, other forms of entertainment, etc., which is pretty handy. You can also use controllers with it. So, for me, PC is the master race. Not to mention PC games are cheaper than console games. :)

I agree with you MisterRay.Probably because of the other uses for the pc, it makes it even better choice over a console.

With the customizing capabilities of the PC, it'll always be steps ahead of any consoles. The development of new graphics capabilities and graphics cards is incredibly fast. Even if a console has state of the art graphics at one stage it'll be outstripped within months, and I'd rather replace my graphics card than wait for a new console! PC games are funner too, in my opinion, and they can easily be modified for new experiences!

PC is superior and always will be, but that doesn't mean its player base is any better than the consoles. There are many games out there on the PC who have really bad player communities just like you have on some console games. I prefer to play on PC but I wont rule out a game just because its out on consoles. There are many console games that are then ported very poorly to the PC so I tend not to wait if I hear there is going to be a PC port.

Yes, PC is master race. However, there are some games that are exclusice. So, if you have the money to buy both console and PC, why not. :D

Yes, PC will always be the Master Race. Not only are they better gaming machines but you can also use them for productivity, such as video editing and word processing. There's a larger game selection, more indies, and (I think) a nicer community. If you go on places like Reddit, thousands of people will help you build a PC. Oh, and let's not forget that PC has better framerates, resolution, textures, anti-aliasing, you name it. It's unfortunate that the consoles' hardware were obsolete as soon as they were released.

PC is probably going to stay as the "master" race too. The only reason is because it has a lot of customization potential. If you look at the gaming consoles, they have one particular set of hardware. You can't change the graphics card or anything. But for your PC, you can change whatever you want, as long as it's compatible with everything else. However, with that being said, PC would definitely be more costly if you want a really high end one.

It's really "PC Mater Race" I mean... Specifications may sound good inside a console but they are actually fairly outdated compared to a gaming PC at least a top end machine or even mid-range.

PC's are backwards compatible and you are able to upgrade your machine if you know how to, overall it's going to cost more owning a gaming PC though they do actually last much longer than consoles if looked after.

Those specs on the new console are good, but it is nothing compared to everything a PC can do. A PC is more than just a gaming device, it is everything the internet really is big on. The internet and gaming are what make the PC the master race, not just the gaming.

Now, PC can always and will always have the best graphics because the components that make up a PC are always being upgraded/changed for users when they get the money. Furthermore, they can almost always handle games better with greater lag resistance and better server connectivity (well done Steam on the last two really). Lastly, PC has the internet. No, not the crappy Microsoft Edge or Browser on PS4 and Xbox One; it has Firefox, Chrome, Opera, etc. which all have so many features. Plus, it is just way more practical to use a mouse and keyboard over a controller for the internet.
