I did for a little while to play some SNES and N64 games, but I kind of abandon the use of them on my PC.

I have I think an emulator on my PC for every system imaginable. Some games emulate better than others though.

Oh boy. If it weren't for emulators, I might not be here right now. Emulation on my crappy old PC when I was a teenager was almost all I did. I would lock myself in my room and play SNES games for hours and hours. My parents never bought me anything past an NES, so I had to turn to emulation to get my gaming fix. I played so many games, all kinds of games, and that's where my love for both RPGs and Final Fantasy was born.
I imagine for kids who did have game systems, emulation was still a good way to play games like Chrono Trigger that were in short supply and cost a pretty penny to buy from the store.

Basically, emulation opened the door to the larger world of gaming to me. I have it to thank for who I am today.

I use an emulator on my smartphone and on my PC. I like the one on my smartphone because I find old NES games to be much more fun than most of the games around for smartphones.

I used Gameboy advanced emulator on my PC to play Megaman Battle Network. I couldn't hold the desire to play the sequels of the game and the anime that I enjoyed during my childhood. I also got the emulator on my mobile to enjoy myself every now and then.

I have found that an emulator is more fun on a PC if it can be configured to use a controller. I use a wired Xbox 360 controller with basic functions mapped to it for NES games with an emulator.

I used one for a little bit on my old computer and laptop to play Gran Turismo 1 & 2 and also a PS2 emulator to play some Warship Gunner 2, a game which I have never been able to find outside of emulation unfortunately.

You didn't look that hard or even at all online then. You probably wont find it in a local shop but it is easily obtained online.

I have used emulators in the past, usually for systems I already owned, but games I did not. In particular, Pokemon Silver. That is the only 'gen' I do not actually own (though I do have the remake), but I played that one via emulator years back!

I used to use them a while back before I could actually buy anything for myself. Haven't used them lately but I still have a SNES one with some roms. Those being of the the games I actually own in real life.

The only time I've ever really used an emulator has been for playing Grandia, because the physical copy I had got trashed and was subsequently either thrown out or lost. :/ Other than that, I'm not a big fan of emus. I greatly prefer having the game I want to play myself, or borrowing it from a friend. The only thing that emus have against the real-deal, especially with games that have multiple outcomes or a varying weaponry system, is save states.

Does the Wiiware count? because I got plenty of classics in the virtual console in my old Nintendo Wii: Zelda Majora's Mask, Metroid, Paper Mario, Super Mario Rpg, Kid Icarus etc. I also remember playing Xenogears and Alundra through EPSXE, titles that i got once but lost or sold after moving to a new home. Also I modified them
heavily with shaders and texture filtering because the native ps resolution was a horror to behold.

Also played Contra 3 alien wars with a friend in a Snes emulator because I only had one controller for my super nintendo. That day I found out Xbox 360 controller is really neat for playing emulators.

My phone and my tablet both have SNes, GBA and PSX emulators installed. My saves are stored in dropbox so whichever device I use, I pick up where I left off.
On PC I use a PS2 emulator as my game catalogue is huge and I have still yet to find anything better than NFS:UG2 or ROTK8.

My emulator that I play on my PC is Nintendo WII.It's more easy to download the emulator and game than buy them in stores.
